Services that Colleges Should Provide
To ensure students’ success, colleges should provide online classes, good counseling service, and 24-hour access to the library.
Nowadays, many students have to work to cover for the college fees, which makes non-traditional student online class beneficiary for it gives the students a chance to learn in their own time. The online course provides flexibility regarding schedule. For instance, if a person works during daytime, s/he will not be able to attend regular classes in school. However, if colleges offer online classes, students could get a chance to study at night after work. Even at work, students can also to study or do homework during break time, or whenever they are free. For example, I work as a security in a company, and I can just sit and read or do my homework even during work time. It is always my priority to look for online classes because I don’t have to worry about fixing my work schedule to align it with my class schedule. It helps direct students to follow the right path towards their academic dreams by providing academic planning and course selection, advice and plans when faced with academic difficulties, and reference to colleges or universities during transfer. It also helps to finish your required class the smart way. If colleges do not provide counseling, then students will lose guidance, and waste money and time. In my experience, I made a big mistake by not going to counseling in my first-year college. So I ended up taking classes that I didn’t need. If a counselor conferred with me, I wouldn’t have spent time and energy taking that class. To help and guide their students' colleges should provide counseling services to their students for them to make the right choices in their academic progress and eventually
