Persuasive Essay On Why Students Should Start Later

Students that get out of school later than everyone else have to risk waiting in these huge lines, most of the time the food gets there as the bell rings. I’ve experienced this tragedy and know that other students have as well. I had to wait for the freshman to get their food and I had no time to eat mine because the bell had just rung, and I wasn’t about to be late. So I was presented with a choice, I could either be late and take the tardy or scarf my food down while walking back to school. This is a problem that affects every high-schooler that gets to their desired restaurant too late. It can be fixed, but it won’t be easy. The majority will refuse to accept it, but it will benefit them in the future. I believe that limiting the number of students with the privilege of off-campus lunch would allow for quicker lines and fewer tardies. Because you shouldn’t be punished for choosing not to dart across the street like every kid does during lunch. I also believe if we let selected students go to lunch at an earlier time, the restaurants and the students will be happy. These selected students will be Juniors and Seniors. We need to push forth this proposal to Dr. Snyder so that he can hear our plea. He needs to understand what we go through day after day, and how little control we have over the subject. We need to appeal to him to fight back against the kids that bolt out of the High School and order something so complicated that it takes an hour to make.
