Schools should start later since most children under 18 do not get enough sleep. For example, studies from the National Sleep Foundation show that 60% of children under the age of 18 complain of being tired, and 15% admit that they have fallen asleep during class at least once in the school year. This is pure evidence that teenagers are exhausted during the school day. But wouldn’t it be worth it to get more sleep? Or for school teams to do better, or to have better grades school-wide? The benefits of moving school start times back are appealing, and that’s for sure. In other words, even small adjustments in school start times can have beneficial effects. Others still argue, though, about the cost of purchasing more buses or that it takes a lot of time to change school schedules, or that if parents drive their children to school, they have to change their schedules too. However, bus schedules can be easily changed, and if parents need to drive their children to school, they could even find a carpooling option. These problems can have easy solutions, they just need to be thought
