Modern life is stressful. You have deadlines to meet, people to see, trains to catch. And there is no worse feeling in the morning than not having had enough sleep. It dulls your day as your drag your feet through chores or work while chugging downs huge mugs of strong, sugary coffee.
Does your wife, husband or partner snore too loud? Or are the neighbors having a fit of late night home improvement again? Or maybe you are a light sleeper so even a cat meowing softly outside your bedroom window startles you.
Relax, for you are not alone. According to the Center for Disease Control (CDC), every one in three Americans suffers from sleeping disorders that makes them shuffle around like zombies all day.
And do you know what sleep deprivation does to you? It makes

All right, you just make yourself comfortable, close your eyes and know that you are in a safe place and you can leave this state at any time you choose....just separate your hands and let them lie loosely in your lap... or by your sides if that's more comfortable... it's better if your legs are uncrossed... but it doesn't matter if you feel you need to move just slightly, now and again... you don't have to be absolutely still... just be comfortable and relax the whole body as much as you can. I want you to concentrate on your breathing, just be aware of every breath.. now I want you to take a deep breath and hold it for a moment before breathing out slowly... just allowing your whole body to relax as you do so... and I want you to keep your eyes closed now and just keep listening quietly to the sound of my voice... you'll be aware of those other sounds, too... sounds inside the building, sounds from outside, people walking outside... but these won't disturb you... in fact, they'll help to relax you as they fade away as you concentrate on your breathing. And the sound of my voice, the only sound you're interested in is the sound of my voice... and while you're listening to the sound of my voice, I want you to concentrate for a moment on your breathing... breathing slowly and steadily and evenly, just as if you were trying to convince somebody that you were absolutely sound asleep... and as you breathe out each time, just allowing your whole body to relax more and more... so that you gradually find yourself feeling as if your whole body was sinking further and further into the chair with each breath you breathe...…

According to the National Sleep Foundation, sixty percent of Americans have sleep deprivation, an outcome of today’s advanced technology. Improvements of the technology and realization of the imaginations offer people more choices to expend their limited amount of time: for example, cell phones, which are among the greatest inventions in the twenty-first century, let people listen to music, take pictures, and even watch TV shows. Because of those innumerable entertainment options, they leave their own health as the last concern, meaning that sleep is in their least priority, without knowing how much a lack of sleep influences their life. The play Macbeth, a tragedy about the rise and fall of the protagonist, Macbeth, reveals the significance…

Snoring, and fast asleep you are abruptly woken up by your annoying and loud alarm. You wipe your crusty yellow eyes, and you are finally awake but you don't want to leave the warm silky sheets. Finally the loud repetitive sound annoys you to no end and you flip the sheets off and open your cold phone. The bright screen makes your eyes squint back into your head. Blindly, you grab random clothes in your drawer and hope they match. The warmth from your bed is leaving your body so you throw your clothes on to try and keep the warm in. Since you don't wake up until the last minute all you have time for is to brush your teeth. The thick minty toothpaste caresses your teeth while you quickly move the bristles back and forth on your teeth. Then you throw your heavy backpack on filled with the homework that isn't finished and jump into your car.…

There are many things that can interrupt our sleep in a negative way. But technology is probobly the worst. Our phones emit small amounts of radiation, none that can kill us, but harm the way we sleep and certain functions of the body. "Prolonged exposure to the radio frequency (RF) energy that cell phones emit adversely affects sleep and severely disrupts sleep patterns" (Better Health News). Even when our phones are not in their active state they can give off electromagnetic radiation that can put off our sleep up to 3 hours. Studies have shown and tested on both men and women that cell phone use before bed can Prolong sleep up to 3 hours. Before bed people shouldn't sleep right next to their phone, putting it farther away will decrease the chance of sleep disruption and any harm to your body. Wherever we go we have our phones, they now replace certain technologies that can easily be accessed through a smart phone such as the alarm clock, and with that we are now forced to sleep with our phones, That doesn't mean we should though. "Radiation interferes with our body’s ability to repair itself from any damage suffered throughout the day"(Prerna Talreja). the constant need to check our applications at night is extremely tempting, especially when it's right next to you. The more your on it the less sleep you can get and the greater chance of long term harm to your body. The radiation affects certain areas in which our bodies deal with injury or self maintenance. If our body can't repair itself from any damage, how can you live a healthy life. Cell phones are not good to be on before bed, serious conditions can occur such as sleep deprivation. The longer we put off sleep due to the constant distraction of modern technology, the more miserable our lives will become.…
