Persuasive Essay On Open Ended Question
For my first closed-ended question, I asked, “Do you support the building of nuclear plants?” I got a varied responses from the audience, eight, of the 16 in the class, supported the building of nuclear plants. The other half of the class said that they either didn’t have enough information or did not support the building. This leads me to believe that the class has mixed feeling on this topic and need more information over nuclear plants to make a decision. The next closed-ended question was, “Do you believe that nuclear energy/plants are unsafe?” For the answers, 12 people said that they are unsafe or have an increased chance at risk. These responses show that many think that nuclear energy can be dangerous, especially if the plants are not maintained and ran correctly. I will have …show more content…
The audience has seen a lot of news that covers the nuclear disasters so they are most familiar with those. The last question was, “What is the first thing that comes to your mind when discussing nuclear energy?” The most notable response was Chernobyl. This is very common of people to think about when pondering nuclear energy. This is the most documented and historical significant nuclear plant disaster. In the survey everything went as expected. There were no surprises, almost everyone thought of a nuclear disaster and didn’t support the building of nuclear plants. I believe I have a mixed audience, with a majority being neutral. Most of the questions questions had a mixed response and the questions ended with a near split. This will help me to develop my speech in a lot of different ways. The most helpful way is it gives me points to cover. Since most of the class thinks of nuclear disasters I will have to show that they are the outlier not what should be

Nuclear energy is one of the hottest topics in the fight to a cleaner world. The number of people who believe that nuclear energy is too dangerous and unhealthy for the earth has skyrocketed because of the nuclear accidents that have happened in the past and recently. These protesters may have a lot of evidence and theories about how bad this type of energy can be, but the people who have realized that nuclear energy is the way to a cleaner and more “Green” society have proof and facts that overrule anything that the protesters say.…

Clarissa Harlowe "Clara" Barton was a pioneer nurse who founded the American Red Cross. In addition to being a hospital nurse, she worked as a teacher, patent clerk, and humanitarian. At a time when relatively few women worked outside the home, Barton built a career helping others. She was never married, as she knew the restrictions of a married woman at the time, but had a relationship with John J. Elwell. During the end of the American Civil War, Barton worked at a hospital she made helping the people at the Andersonville prison camp where 13,000 people died.…

“Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, the wretched refuse of your teeming shore, send the homeless tempest-tost to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door.” Reference? America has long been the land of freedom and hope to the world, and the American military is what has kept her that way. People have forgotten how important and valuable the military is to the world that we live in. As part of the Budget Control Act of 2011, automatic sequestration calls for $1.2 trillion in lowered federal spending, with 50% coming from defense and 50% coming from non-defense budgets. If Congress cannot reach an agreement, these cuts will reduce the Department of Defense spending by about $55 billion dollars. On September 11, 2001, the United States faced a difficult time in which 3,000 lives were lost due to an attack upon the U.S. by terrorists who hijacked airplanes and crashed them into the Twin Towers in New York City, the Pentagon in Arlington, Virginia, and the United States Pennsylvania! That day, 9/11, has become a day in which we remember the lives that were lost and the families who were affected by such a tragedy. We called on our military once again, and they were there to protect our country. I am against automatic sequestration towards the military and military programs for many reasons.…

This research I conducted is a qualitative type of gathering information. I printed out 10 questionnaires consisted of 3 sets of questions. The three questions I prepared for the survey are about the two solutions for the immigration problem in the country. I conceptualized the questions in such a manner to help me come up with data of what is the pulse of the respondents about the solutions. Subsequently, I went around the main building here at San Jacinto College, and randomly selected 10 students. For a balanced result, I unmethodically picked 5 male students and 5 female…
