Persuasive Essay On Extreme Media Bias

Extreme media bias has become a problem in a past decade. Having media be completely unbiased is impossible for people will unconsciously be a little bit biased. However today most media is extremely biased towards one party. This does not happen only on one side as Fox, CNN, and Buzzfeed are both biased towards the other party. It is not hard to recognize and can even be found on the main page of their website. Extreme media bias is causing the media to release articles with wrong facts because of the bias. The media should present the information with the least amount of possible bias so the public can make their own informed decisions. This paper will cover what the media’s role should be, why media bias has become so prominent in today’s age, give examples of bias from the media today, and if there is a solution to fix extreme media bias.

Some of the top stories from CNN are “Trumps credibility takes a new hit” and “Polls find Trump losing steam on promises.” Fox news has a bias in their stories as well and all of their headlines show the conservative side in a positive light. An example of this is the video they posted title “Trump Jr.: Trump is doing things that make sense for America.” The bias is obvious and these media companies do not try to hide it.
Getting rid of all extreme media bias today is next to impossible. The amount of backlash these media companies would receive for showing the other candidate in a positive light would not be worth it to the companies. This problem lies within their audience. Many people who watch Fox, Buzzfeed, and CNN do so because they want a biased opinion. The proof is the comment section of Buzzfeed and Fox. The people don’t want to hear an opposing opinion they follow this media because it is what they want to hear, not what the truth
