Persuasive Essay On Co-Op Leadership
The co-op leadership decided that all classes will have 15 student cap with a wait-list of 5 openings. We believe that most moms will take a second choice if necessary. We want to remain flexible with this policy depending on the class. For something like a play or PE, is fine to have a large class, but for most classes smaller classrooms are better. Large classes are not the best fit for co-op for a number of reasons, but three important reasons come to mind:

1. It can be chaotic enviroment with too many kids

2. Less work is done. Less enjoyable in general.

3. Ties up too many assistants in one room, leaving many areas lacking help.

All of your kids will have priority on all rosters. If a fellow homeschool mom's kids don't get in

Leadership is about being a role model and having a positive impact on people through working and living by example. Leadership is about consciously changing and challenging yourself for a purpose you believe in. For example, when I started my college education, I didn’t know what leadership meant. During my years in college I began to understand and learned that leaders are not born, they are developed.…

I would recommend that the co-op office should get into contact with Johnny immediately to inform him that he is not complying with the responsibilities (applying to 25% of the total postings or 10 postings, whichever is fewer – 10 postings in this case) that he agreed to when he started co-op. Perhaps Johnny had been applying to jobs outside of myCareer thinking (incorrectly) that those applications counted towards his 25%/10 applications. It’s also possible that Johnny has been struggling with various personal issues (medical issues, familial issues, even self-confidence problems) and because of these issues was unable to apply for jobs. After the office has determined the cause of Johnny’s disinterest the office can choose how to go forward. If Johnny’s disinterest was from an incorrect assumption, or personal issues, then I believe the co-op office should setup a mandatory meeting with a co-op advisor. If Johnny…

Through the course, I learned about leadership different styles and how they emerged and developed from the Trait Theories that focus on the leader characteristics to the Goal Orientations Theories that require collaborative methods between leaders and followers. As I mentioned before, I had always linked the leadership weight to the leader leading characteristics. However, I would argue now that leadership is gained through practice and experience and it is powered through followers. As a school leader, I will use a mixture of leadership theories. First, I will build my school on an ethical basement and then, I will structure a vision that is shared between everyone in the school. At this point of my study, I believe that the type of leadership…

The leadership influences for me started on the first Monday morning quarters onboard the CGC Yocona. I was right out of recruit training, firing on all cylinders and ready to tow the Coast Guard line. Quarters was held on the mess deck and the young BM3 was handing out work lists for the day. I did not know who he was but I watched and listened to everyone call him by his first name. Once orders were given out to all parties he then asked if there were any questions. I was not introduced nor given a work party so I raised my hand to inquire where I was to go. I mistakenly asked him by his first name where I was to go. The morning turned from bright and casual to tense and stormy in an instant as he verbally tore into me as loud as possible. This degraded and embarrassed me which…

Online, physically, or verbally you can be a victim of being bullied. You don’t have to keep things as they are. The question is how to handle the situation (Do you attack the bully and become the bully yourself? Or do you ignore the bully and pretend all is well?) What you do is speak up and ask for help. I would know, because not only was I a victim, I was also a person who stood by and simply watched it happen.…

This essay will present my views about the leadership lessons discussed in the book I recently read entitled Toy Box Leadership written by Ron Hunter Jr. and Michael Waddell (2008) as part of my learning reflection on the essential socio-cultural and personal competencies discussed in the unit CPD1102. The authors used the toys that we as kids love way back to explain leadership principles that are reflected in each toy. It was an entertaining and exciting experience to go back to my childhood as I read about my favorite toys mentioned in the book while I learn, better understand and know by heart some important leadership concepts that are very beneficial to aspiring managers like me. It made me realize how much work I still need to do to further improve myself in terms of becoming an effective leader because for a long while I have believed in my own style and also imitated others without really knowing why I choose to be that kind of leader. I have discovered different values behind leadership which are surprisingly relevant to my previous experiences and dealings with my previous managers. In the following paragraph, I will discuss each toy leadership concept and show my understanding about it by identifying its significance and relevance to the eight socio-cultural and personal competencies that I am expected to develop over the next two years until my course completion. Then in the end after the discussion you will never look and think of each toy the same way again.…

This approach to leadership is quite interesting and has influenced me because in the latter part of my career in the Navy, I see this type of leadership style more and more. Many people may think of the military being as part of a big team; and they are correct in many cases, but there is a lot of individualism as well. It was not until technology and increased tracking of policies and programs that I started to notice and be a part of project management, task force, and improvement teams. This was not commonplace in probably the first half of my career. Northouse (2012) emphasized additional types; “Examples of such teams include project management teams, task forces, work units, standing committees, quality teams, and…
