The U.S. Constitution established America's national government and fundamental laws, and guaranteed certain basic rights for its citizens. One of these fundamental laws is the second amendment which allows us to keep and bear arms. Supporters of the second amendment expect to have unlimited access to any form of gun but there needs to be certain boundaries with guns to ensure the safety of the general public while maintaining the right to carry a weapon.
First of all, banning all handguns does not allow for law-abiding citizens to protect themselves. Some people may think that banning handguns will decrease violent crime. However, that will take away the rights of the people that follow the law and use guns for self-defense.
