Justice? No justice here….

September 8, 2013

Many items can be considered weapons, but do you think that candy, a drink, and a phone poses a threat to anyone? Well apparently someone did; George Zimmerman did. He did on the night that he attack and killed Trayvon Martin. The young man was walking home from a local store when Zimmerman felt like he was being suspicious and felt the need to approach him. Soon afterward, they engaged in a confrontation that ended with George Zimmerman shooting and killing Trayvon Martin. By finding this man innocent its giving people the green light to stereotype and harass innocent people, Right is right, and wrong is Wrong because Zimmerman Shot and killed an unarmed person and While there are 2 sides to every story, Trayvon’s dead and Zimmerman is alive and well.
By acquitting Zimmerman, this is an issue for the entire country, This is giving a green light for anyone to approach an unarmed black male who wears a hoodie and harass them, when they are just minding their own business. Trayvon was unarmed and not bothering anyone, so why was it okay for Zimmerman to approach him, and start a confrontation with him and then giving a pat on the back.
Zimmerman Shot and killed an unarmed person. Right is right and wrong is wrong. At the end of the day, someone is dead, and they are dead after the fact that you harassed them, and you started the conformation, so shouldn’t you be responsible for the consequences of your actions. Zimmerman approach Trayvon after direct orders by the 911 operator not to, but did so anyways. Zimmerman should have been found guilty for various reasons, for one, Trayvon did not have any weapons on him when the tragedy happened, he was walking home minding his own business. So I guess now in our society it is okay to approach someone unarmed, when we are armed and kill them, and then yell self defense..

This tragedy was far from an act of self defense this man is guilty of this

A man by the name of George Zimmerman shot and killed 17-year-old Trayvon Martin in Sanford, Florida. From the start, Zimmerman claimed that he had acted in self-defense, and the Sanford police initially accepted that account. Calls by Martin's family for further investigation around the case, which resulted in second-degree murder and manslaughter charges against Zimmerman. The case went to trial in the summer of 2013, and in July of that year, the trial jury let Zimmerman free of all charges. Zimmerman chose not to ask for a pretrial Stand Your Ground hearing, and at trial he gave a self-defense claim.…

Quarreling over Jonbenet stealing a piece of his late night treat, nine-year-old Burke took it out of hand and threw a flashlight at her head. Ever been accused of manslaughter or been called a racist?Well, George Zimmerman has, in the Trayvon Martin case. Many people believe that if you are accused of murder like George Zimmerman does. They will just call you a racist and a murderer. Opinion and facts is a big part of this case, and obviously, he was the one who kill Trayvon Martin. However, he still has pleaded not guilty because he claims that it was just self-defense and not murder. Eventually, Zimmerman won the case because verdict found him not guilty, and a jury of six women found him also not guilty. I think that some people didn’t believe about Zimmerman claim; at the same time, some people may believe it.…

First, I would like to bring to your attention that George Zimmerman was found not Guilty of the murder of Trayvon Martin under the 'Stand your ground law' This law which is placed gives individuals the right to use deadly force to defend themselves without having to retreat from a dangerous situation However, When Zimmerman called 911 and explained to the police department about the suspicious of Trayvon Martin the police officer informed him not to follow yet Zimmerman continue to follow him after the dispatcher told him there was no need to do so Surely if George Zimmerman after calling a dispatch unit because he felt unsafe why did he feel the need to then follow the young teenager he is now inserting himself into what he declared to be a dangerous situation Knowing full well that he was armed, Zimmerman followed Trayvon in his car AND on foot meaning he left his car making the decision to bring his gun in order to pursue and confront someone Here you can see he was clearly wanting trouble. he was ordered not to follow him. But he did so he has no right to claim self-defense. He was asking for a fight and he got one, with a kid he thought to be dangerous. we can clearly see George Zimmerman was the instigator and placing himself into this position and then use the act of self defense to justify murder of an innocent unarmed teenager. I don't think he set out to shoot Treyvon Martin, but in the end, he did and that was his choice he was warned not to approach the boy and decided to neglect the warning and take it into his own hands he simply took advantage of an opportunity trying to play the part of a…

Just because someone is believed to be guilty doesn’t mean they are guilty. The Zimmerman versus Martin case has been a lingering case for over 4 years now since it has happened. George Zimmerman, in a lot of eyes, is guilty. There are a few things that need to be considered before this can be concluded: there is no hard evidence proving that Zimmerman had intention to murder Martin, emotions opinions are not a sufficient source against the case, and neither parties have an exceeding criminal background.…

This article really stood out to me because it showed the other non-biased view of Trayvon Martin and George Zimmerman’s case. It is apparently alleged that Zimmerman, a self-acclaimed neighborhood watchman, who carried a weapon, saw Trayvon, followed him in his car and asked him what he was doing. Trayvon answered with “why are you following me”, and a fight ensued. As they were fighting an unarmed Trayvon yelled “Help, Help, Help” as Zimmerman cocked his gun and shot Trayvon in an apparent struggle. What really stood out to me in this article is how Trayvon was pleading for Zimmerman, a 28 year old Florida resident to stop beating him up. Another thing that stood out to me was that Trayvon was only 17 years old. I wondered to myself why a 28 year old followed and beat up a 17-year-old boy. Some say Zimmerman a Hispanic was racist against African Americans leading to the question did Zimmerman purposely shoot and kill Trayvon because he was black?…

In response to the recent event, Florida's Frederica Wilson displayed her displeasure during a Congress session in witnessing the youth of her community have their lives ended due to baseless fear. She delivered a speech on behalf of him and other young black males. "I encourage the citizens of Florida and the citizens from around the world to continue to fight for justice for Trayvon Martin. Justice must be served: No more racial profiling. I'm tired of fighting when the evidence is so clear, so transparent..." As the case gradually progresses, more information was released about previous reports George Zimmerman provided. Though new evidence has been released, it was unacceptable for the press and media to openly comment on what was currently going on. The Stanford Police Department were leaking insignificant information of Trayvon Martin, butchering what was left of him now. "They've killed my son... and now they're trying to kill his…

In the United States today, there are many debates about the crimes against African Americans that are being committed by police officers. For years there has been a worrying amount of news stories about police officers shooting unarmed African American males with little to no provocation from them. These shootings have led to massive outcries from the citizens of the United States as well as created movements such as "black lives matter." These groups want to see a change on how police officers are trained and for racial profiling to stop. One of the cases that added the fuel to the fire is Randall Kerrick versus Jonathan Ferrell.…

One example of a preferred jury was a case that took place on the night of February 26, 2012, in Stanford, Florida, George Zimmerman fatally shot Trayvon Martin, a 17 year old African American high school student. George Zimmerman, a 28 year old Hispanic, was the neighborhood watch coordinator for the gated community where martin was temporarily staying and where the shooting took place. In the movie A Time To Kill, many rights & freedoms were violated according to the Canadian Charter of Rights & Freedoms. In this paragraph, three very big & important rights and/or freedoms will be discussed. The first is section 2 (Fundamental Freedoms), part c. The freedom of peaceful assembly was violated seven times in the movie; the most prominent is when the KKK formed outside the courthouse & demanded that Carl Lee be pronounced guilty or else they’re going to get violent, that is in direct violation of that freedom. Section 2, part d (freedom of association) was also violated as the KKK clearly violated that freedom by fundamentally being in existence because the purpose of their association is to hurt or kill anyone who lives in the United States of America and is not Caucasian and does not follow Christianity or Catholism. The second violation is Section 15 (Equality Rights) subsection 1. This right provides equality before and under the law and equal protection and benefit of the law. Before & during the trial, Carl Lee was held in a segregated prison cell, which isn’t so bad but still racist, the next unfair treatment to Carl Lee was being put on trial in front of a bias and all white jury. When Carl Lee’s lawyer requested that the venue of the trial be changed due to the fact that the jury is all-white and bias, he hoped it be changed to a venue where the jury will be maybe fifty percent black. The judge, who is white, denied that request quite blatantly and anyways started the trial in Canton with a bias jury, which later on in the movie proved to extremely racist in their reasoning for Carl Lee being guilty. The third and last of many other rights & freedoms that have been violated in this movie is, section 13 (treatment or punishment). Everyone has the right not to be subjected to any cruel and unusual treatment or punishment. This right…

“African American males are twenty two times more likely to be shot by a police officer than their white counterparts. The Oscar Grant case shows this corruption by law enforcement” (Neubauer). This controversial case has been an issue with law enforcements “protecting” our communities when in reality they’re just killing and accusing innocent people because they have the power to. This white officer shot an African American male Oscar Grant, with his gun. According to the officer “he was reaching for his gun but accidentally pulled out his Taser”. The footage that was obtained showed that Grant was already on the ground restrained and did not seem like a threat before he was shot. Many more cases like this one have also shown the same problem, police overusing their power but only when they deal with a colored person. Innocent people have died in the hands of the police and not one single case has been justified in court and it’s all because they’re “black”. The court doesn’t justify or fight for the victims’ rights all they do is protect the law enforcements and say that the victim’s actions seemed like a threat. Black lives matter because we are all equal under the law and if the court doesn’t resolve these issues many more will continue to die in the hands of what we call “safety and security”…

1.) The problem presented in this case is that a student unlawfully brought a firearm on school grounds. It is dangerous for a student to have such a weapon around other students and staff. A part of the problem is that even though Jake is a generally good student and him bringing the weapon was not intentional or malicious in any way, it still against the law and school policy.…
