Perspectives on Homosexuality
Sexuality throughout Life

In this outline I am going to address three different scenarios pertaining to human sexuality. The first scenario I will cover is an adolescent girl named Anna who is very much in love and dealing with the peer pressure of her boyfriend to engage in sexual intercourse. We will also discuss how her parents feel about her boyfriend. Secondly I will discover why an elderly couple is trying to get their groove back sexually and some of the problems they face due to their age. Last we will talk about a gentleman named Bill who has been paralyzed from the waist down since he was a kid. Bill would like to be intimate in the relationship that he is currently in but is very nervous and uncomfortable when it comes to discussing the subject with his girlfriend. I will address Bills feelings and offer him some information regarding sexuality and his disability. Anna I understand that you are having a rather difficult time at the moment. On one hand you a have a boyfriend that you love pressuring you to have sex. When we look at the other hand you have a loving mother who thinks this young man is trying to take advantage of you. Anytime you are faced with a difficult decision I think it is necessary to stop and give yourself time to consider before you make a decision that you will regret. I am not here to judge I am here solely to help you with your decision making progress. Everyone has a set of standards or morals that they follow to determine what to do in difficult situations. Some people are reared in a legalistic fashion meaning they derive their values from an external source such as religion. There is situational ethics where the decision to have sex should be guided by love for others. There is ethical relativism, hedonism the pursuit of pleasure, asceticism a denial of sexual desires to devote oneself to spiritual pursuits, utilitarianism and rationalism. The moral view that you choose to use is your decision making process. Stick with that and you will be content with your decisions, having known that you have done the right thing in your heart. Mom you have raised Anna the very best you know how and according to the morals that you believe in. It is impossible to watch Anna all day so you are going to have to trust that she has received some of the wisdom that you have imparted towards her. It is perfectly fine to voice your opinion but now is the time for Anna to make her own choices and be accountable for her own life. Tom and Susan I understand that you are here to improve your sex life. Susan you are ready to be more sexually active now that you are retired, and Tom you are feeling a little worried about this whole situation. I can tell you both that as you get older there are many changes that happen to the body that also have an effect on the way we think and feel about sex. It helps to be informed about the changes that occur in your body so that you know everything is healthy. The changes that we see in women are reduced lubrication in the vagina, decreased elasticity in the vagina walls and a decreased intensity of spasms of orgasm. The changes that we see in men are longer time to achieve an erection, softer erections and decreased intensity of spasms of orgasm as well to name a few. These are some of the general problems that occur as we get older and they can make us feel anxious, or unsure of our ability to perform. I am here to tell you both that there are ways to get around them and still have a fulfilling happy sexual life. One way to combat this is longer foreplay times. I want you to rediscover and appreciate each other’s bodies take your time and get each other stimulated. For the lack of lubrication I want you to go out and experiment with different water based lubricants that will work for you. I also want you to use your imaginations if you have to. Remember how your lover looked when you was younger or add sex toys and pornography, whatever the two of you feel comfortable with. Here are some pamphlets that I would like for you to take with you on how to get your groove back this article will jump start you back into action. Bill you are romantically involved with a young lady and would like to be intimate with her but are unsure how to express this concern. Well I am very glad to have you here and will be glad to help you on your way to being sexually active again. Sex is a two part system meaning we receive stimulation from the brain and then from direct stimulation to our erogenous areas. I say this to let you know that sex begins with a positive image of oneself. If you are not satisfied with who you are how can you expect someone else to be. Next you are going to need to have knowledge about sexuality and knowledge about what you can do and your limitations. Your injury exists from the waist down in the sacral erection center, so you are not able to obtain an erection from direct stimulation, but you are able to obtain one from stimulation of the mind. When you have a talk with your partner let them know of your limitations and how you can achieve stimulation. If your partner shares the same interest in you as you do in her then I am sure she has thought about what sex will be like with you and the good thing is she is still here. That is a plus, so be confident knowing that she cares about you and take this information and the two of you can read it together and decide where to go from there.

Heterosexism is a term used to describe people who discriminate against gays and lesbians. Throughout history, an intimate relationship between members of the opposite sex was considered the norm, and breaking this norm would make a person deviant. From birth, children are taught certain characteristics on how boys and girls are suppose to behave. Children learn these things from their parents, the schools they attend, and society that they live in. The characteristics that they learn shapes them into what they become when they’re adults. According to Barrie Thorne, “the sociological significance of children’s play is that boys and girls are helping to socialize one another into primary adult gender roles, girls being more concerned with intimacy, emotions, and romance, and boys with independence and sexuality (pg. 180)”. As children we are taught that sex and sexuality are about becoming mommies or daddies, we then bring that knowledge into our teenage lives and eventually into adulthood. We are taught that being heterosexual is normal and homosexuality and bisexual as wrong and out of the norm. Although heterosexuality dates all the way back to the days of Adam and Eve, the term didn’t come into effect until the late nineteenth century. The purpose of this paper is to give examples of how heterosexism has become institutionalized in the American social system.…

On the other hand, it is also a homosexuals human and moral rights. Every homosexual has the right to be jubilant in the same way that heterosexuals are. Each individual has their own morals, although some may not agree. A USC Aiken senior, Micah Hurtt, says, "Some people cannot separate the religious aspect. It is not a matter of religious right or wrong morals; it is inequality." Even though heterosexuals have different morals, homosexuals still have the right to be…

She understands how hard it can be to make choices when you are going through big changes. She may also understand your feelings towards one another. I do not doubt the level of feelings and love your boyfriend has towards you but consider the age difference between you, he may be using his maturity to pressure you in to making a big decision you may regret. When making a big decision I advise you to remember the way you were raised and your own personal views about engaging in sexual activities. I want you to weigh your options an think hard about what you really want to so and why you want to do it, then I want you to do the same thing with your boyfriend. Another thing I want you to think about is the results and consequences of your decisions. If you choose to engage in sexual intercourse I want you to educate yourself and your boyfriend about the proper contraceptive methods (i.e. birth control and condoms) to avoid anything happening that you are not ready for such as becoming…

Homosexual sex is unnatural. I don't recall anywhere in the Bible where God said it was okay for two males to conjoin in marriage or any other "activities." In fact in the book of Genesis, God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah by brimstone and fire for such homosexuality. I do not believe unnatural means that something is disgusting; something can be unnatural and disgusting, which homosexuality is. God did not form two Adam's; he formed an Adam and an Eve. I believe people do choose to be homosexual. If anybody is familiar with the Bible, then they would know homosexuality is immoral. I do believe that homosexuals would not be accepted into Heaven, considering God's act on Sodom and Gomorrah. I believe God thinks it's immoral, which in my opinion should give everybody the same opinion. Human beings are not created by homosexuals. This is the part why Adam and Eve were created. Girls should like boys and boys should like girls, end of story.…

Is homosexuality a genetic trait we’re born with, or do we choose this lifestyle? Is it a lack of father and a more involved mother? Why do people think this is abnormal? There are so many questions that people have about homosexuality, their beliefs on it, and why they think it is wrong or right. I have heard so many people say, “It’s Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve.” Why does religion have a profound effect on why people believe that homosexuality is wrong; that homosexuals are automatically doomed to hell? Gay people have lived a daunting life for centuries because people think that being homosexual is out of the “norm” and that God created everyone to procreate. God created everyone equal, and he taught us to love one another. People often wonder, and I have personally been told this,” that people choose this lifestyle. The story,” Foundations of the Earth”, provides the reader with a vivid image on religion and homosexuality. People use religion to answer many of life’s problems, especially when it comes to moral topics such as homosexuality; whether it’s right or wrong, negative or positive.…

From as long as one can date back, there has always been a history discrimination towards others among the general populace. First and foremost, there have been numerous accounts of judgement upon homosexuality making claims stating that it is an immoral choice, a mental disorder, or religiously unjust to be homosexual. These accusations stem as the cause of why members of the LBGT organization are shunned to society and constantly victimized, simply based off of the lack of knowledge towards the true origins of homosexuality. For example, in previous years, homosexuality was documented in the American Psychiatric Association’s, the APA’s, official list of mental disorders. The idea of homosexuality having to do with mental stability is supported…

Are there any relative theories that can separate the understanding of sexual orientation and gender identity? I will try to correlate between traditional relationships versus homosexuality relationships. However, there are too many variables seem to have a cause or causes of homosexuality. I will try to relate some basic theories and definitions of several ideas that can be confusing. Several research studies have been completed, and none of them showed any reason to believe in one cause of how homosexuality begins. One major theory I will make is in connection with is called "social-cognitive theory" and gender schema theory (Psychology 7th edition, David Myers, Module 6 page 125 and Module 35 pages 472-483). I believe that for anyone to get complete understanding of homosexuality and its nature of causes we need to look at it in a process of stages.…

Everyone in the world has different beliefs, opinions, and perceptions that shape how they live their lives. Some people choose to be very opinionated while others tend to be more laid back. The varying behaviors and beliefs of different people can be attributed to how they were raised and who they associate with. I grew up with parents who taught me to be very accepting and respectful towards others. I feel that throughout my life I have never hated any other group of people although growing up as a male, there is a tendency to look at being gay as wrong or disgusting. I myself am not gay but in my lifetime have discovered that sexual preference does not define a person.…

One of the deeply debated topics in psychology is homosexuality, some psychologists believe that it's genetic and some believe that it is a learned sexual orientation. In my personal opinion, I think that homosexuals are born with that sexual orientation. I believe that a homosexual might not always have fully known they were gay but some part of them always did know. I strongly disagree with the psychologists who say that homosexuality is learned; you just don't go and learn sexual orientation like you learn something in school. There are also some psychologists who believe that homosexuality is a psychological disorder. I believe that this too is wrong, just because someone likes a person of the same sex…
