Personal Teaching Philosophy
My personal teaching philosophy is to help students achieve their greatest learning potential, help them develop life-long skills by creating a fun and engaging learning environment through project-based learning and integration of technology. I also think it is imperative for my future classroom to be able to challenge students. I want to be able to watch them grow and reach their full potential as well as see their learning soar to new levels and watch them develop together and as individuals. Students are able to grow when a teacher adopts a mentoring role. When a teacher displays warmth and compassion to their students, it shows just how much they truly care about them as students and as individuals, as well as when teachers are empathetic …show more content…
Students will have the freedom to express their opinions, concerns, questions, comments, likes, dislikes and so much more. They will have the freedom to use their imagination and be creative. Students will know that my classroom is a safe place to express themselves and to let out their inner creativity. Students will also be able to realize their likes and dislikes as they progress as well as begin to learn their own strengths and weaknesses, Once all this has begun to take place and myself as the teacher is able to learn more about who the children are as students rather than just individuals, lessons can be created with each students best interest in …show more content…
By supporting these special abilities, teachers can guide students through the pits of learning and the highs of learning. When students and teachers have a mutual respect for one another they are able to establish a strong relationship, leading to an incredible alliance. This allows students to feel as if they are an equal with their teachers which, then in turn creates a strong academic atmosphere. I want my classroom to be a safe and creative learning environment for all students. If a student is unable to feel safe in the classroom, mine specifically whether that be emotionally, physically, or socially, they will not be able to perform their best academically. Their level of learning will go down, as well as their desire and want to learn, and could potentially shut down all together, making it almost impossible to reach the student on a personal and academic

After going through many years of schooling and observing many different teacher styles I have come up with my own philosophy of teaching. As a future teacher my main philosophy is everyone learns concepts different and student should be treated as individuals. Students are humans; they have different thoughts and different way to enjoy learning. As an educator I want to make sure they embrace their skills and help improve in the areas they need to help on. In my field of special education as a teacher and a person who has a learning disability I’ve learned that effective teaching requires patience and flexibility. Teachers need to learn how to adjust because students respond differently to a many forms of assessment and education.…

Outside of their parents, the teacher is the next adult figure with the most influence in their lives. I must take every student under my wing and guide them through the year. In order to do that, the environment of the classroom I create will comprise of me taking a sincere interest in students and see them as unique individuals. I will be notice if they play any sports, or participate in any clubs and connect with them at that level. I will also build lasting relationships that inspire and encourage students to be confident with whom they are. I feel that it is the responsibility of the teacher to get to know everyone of their students, their weaknesses and their strengths. It’s also important to build a personal trust. This trust leads to a successful mentorship with the learner. My approach towards education and curriculum is one that is less rigid and technical. I prefer one that is humanistic. This approach includes lessons based on life experiences, group games, group projects, artistic endeavors, dramatizations, field trips, social enterprises, learning and interest centers, and homework and tutoring stations ( or corners). These activities include creative problem solving and active student participation. They emphasize socialization and life adjustment for students, as well as stronger family ties and school – community ties (Ornstein & Hunkins, 2013, p. 7).…

Developing a classroom community for elementary students is imperative. A student who feels comfortable in the classroom will be able to learn and grow because they will not be afraid to make mistakes in front of others, and they will learn to appreciate the opinions of others. The sooner a child learns to work with and value others, the better. This not only benefits a person during their school years, but is an important part of success later in life.…
