It’s funny I was asked to write a paper about personal and professional goals. I often recite in my head what needs to be done. First, in determining my career goals I believe goals are essential to maintain professional success. I want to also give my children a healthy environment so later in life they can accomplish their goals and be successful in their goals and be successful in their careers. It takes perseverance and diligence in order to maintain a successful life. Professionally I would like to have the ability to bring skills to the workplace that would secure my job stability. My driving force for the last three years has been to work with an incredible company that cares about their patient’s health. Making a difference within the company that I work for would be my idea of professional success. Personal success starts with me becoming more focused and organized within my learning environment. I would like to be able to manage time better and more efficiently between taking care of my children, work, education and other aspects of my life. Being able to attend online classes has allowed me to manage some time better such as being a mom on a fulltime basis I am able to watch their growth in the crucial first times in their lives even though I have attended a college campus I would still rather attend online classes it gives me the time to learn on my own. Second I would like to transition from studying student to working professional, I would like to overcome my fears of failure and have more confidence in myself in my chosen…

Once I am secured in a position, the two tactics that I would use to succeed in my employment are to avoid career disaster by incorporating perpetual career management and keeping up my networking. To avoid a career disaster, you should incorporate the concept of “Perpetual Career Management” into your professional life.…
For the longest time, I believed I was meant to be a teacher. I love helping others learn, whether it be teaching a kid how to clear in badminton or helping a friend integrate an expression for calculus. Despite my affinity for teaching, it fails to fully incorporate my interests in the sciences and their applications.…
As I look back on the last two months of this course, the two Benedictine Hallmarks that jump out at me the most are discipline and obedience. At this point in my life, I am a full time student and working part time at Edward Hospital in Naperville. I am doing nothing but growing and learning every day of the week. Because of this, discipline and obedience are so necessary in my everyday schedule. I am not only trying to better myself and learn as much as I possibly can but I am also trying to make connections with people in the attempt to maximize my total development as an individual. You can learn so much from the people that you encounter everyday whether it be big impressions or small. I want to focus solely on my school work in order…
As a child I loved playing dress up, I loved going to Tea Parties, and I loved playing with Legos. When I was little I found no problem with doing science experiments on my Barbie’s, or having princesses play Legos; however, as I entered kindergarten and first grade I found those two worlds weren’t supposed to coexist. Girls were supposed to play with girls toys, and boys were to play with boy toys. I decided, that was best and gave up my Lego set to the boy next door and focused on doing girl things. Next came second and third grade, where teachers begin to ask, “What do you want to be when you grow up”? Boys say things like: a military member, a lawyer, an engineer, a fireman, a scientist, a cop, and the list goes on and on. Whereas girls are kept more in a box with only certain professions being traditionally appropriate. I decided, that was correct and that I would be a science teacher so I could still be a part of the scientific world I so thoroughly enjoyed, yet still be traditionally…

My extensive background in psychology and my growing experience in nursing in concert with my passion for working with children, adolescents, and families have culminated in my pursuit of the Doctor of Nursing Practice. While my nursing experience has recently begun, I look forward to continuing my education and experience in caring for those with not only mental health issues, but physical issues that impact their mental health as well.…

As a rising senior, the past three years of my academic career have centered on all aspects of the sciences. And although I don't regret any of the classes I have taken throughout college, I feel bound and restricted to a set curriculum. It's a feeling I want to break out from because I believe college can offer me so much more than just my studies. I've taken part in many extracurricular activities but at the same time I still feel unsatisfied because there are so many more things I want to experience before I graduate. There is one particularly rewarding experience that continues to drive me to go outside the boundaries of academia.…
