Personal Statement: My Passion For Outdoor Education
Teaching is a lifelong learning profession and I am dedicated to continually participating in professional learning in order to develop my skills, expertise and teaching capacity. As a graduate teacher I look forward to reflecting upon my practice and growing into a better teacher.
Commitment to actively contribute to a broad range of school activities:
- Throughout both of my placements I have been able to be a proud ambassador of the school by supporting students and helping in the smooth running of sporting days.
- Throughout my placement at Bacchus Marsh Grammar I volunteered to go on the year 9 Duke of Edinburgh camp. My passion for outdoor education and my skills in leadership and communication were of great value on this camp. Throughout

Driving me every day to put my best foot forward in academics, sport, fine art, not letting my time here go to waste. This mindset has allowed for my dedication to turn into amazing experiences. Including the honor of representing the school throughout the levels of the tri-tiered curriculum. In the fine art community, I have participated in British Columbia's Provincial Debate Qualifiers, the Canadian National Speech and Debate Seminar, featured artwork for Bean Around the World, and submissions to the National Film Festival for Talented Youth. Although a large part of my strengths are submerged in the arts, I have been able to push my boundaries regarding sport.…

Although I brought a plethora of skills with me from the many roles and responsibilities I have had over my working life, I have learnt many more during my teaching career however, these skills I brought with me have enabled me to meet my learners needs such as my organisation skills, communication skills and previous coaching/ training experience. My roles and responsibilities as a teacher are varied and sometimes complex it is far more then just standing at the front of a group of learners and lecturing on my specialist subject area.…

As captain on the varsity cheerleading squad for two years, I have developed leadership qualities and can recognize the needs of others. I have also been involved in my school's choral program as a member of show and varsity choirs. These commitments taught me the importance of time management and dedication by being able to maintain a high GPA, leading to induction into National Honors Society. As a member, I am given the opportunity to serve in my community. Serving others is not a new concept for me. I am involved in my church's youth group, cheerleading, and as a volunteer for a nursing home. I enjoy helping others and the opportunity to serve. I plan to continue my level of school pride at UVU. School pride is more than wearing a t shirt, it is everyday living and passion to help…
