Personal Statement For Civil Engineering
“We shape our Buildings; thereafter they shape us.” – Winston Churchill
If I am supposed to express the gist of my cultivation, I would say, “In my experience, there is only one motivation and that is desire. No reasons or principle contain it or stand against it.” The belief that an education is most valuable when it is used to serve one’s community has been instilled in me. This conviction and a natural aptitude for science and mathematics convinced me to opt for civil engineering in bachelors as the most fitting career for me. For me education and learning is constant process and it’s a crucial part of every human’s life. I strongly believe that this process of learning new things is strongly backed by the magical word Interest. It’s a

The word is quiet influential to me, and thereby has a great impact on my works. The definition of desire is to acknowledge everything that may vary from person to person, but the simplest way to describe it is just about understanding the work what a person can, and I personally feel that the output is partial without the best input.

So due to this advantage I did gone for selecting Civil Engineering after my 10th standard and after my high school. My country, India, is on the threshold of hectic development in infrastructure like roads, bridges, highways, expressways etc. India is in a tearing hurry to make up the lost time and catch up with the

My biggest motive to further my education is myself. According to Malcolm Knowles research there are four different motives that stimulate adults to learn. The “Practical Context” suggests that an adult is motivated to learn because the knowledge he/she gains will be put into practice whether it’s immediately or in the future. This person feels that the information will help him/her cope with daily situations with more ease. The “Experiential Context” this adult learner is someone that has become wise with age and has formed a solid foundation about what they know through personal experience. This person is open to fresh ideas and adapts to new situations and in the course discovers a newly refined sense of logic. The “Idealistic Context” refers to an adult that is motivated to learn for the sake of learning. This type of learner takes pleasure within the process of a deeper and more theoretical development. Even though theory is more interesting than practice this person knows that practice is still essential. The last motive is the “Personal Context”. This motive is attained through the desire of self-betterment. This describes my personal motive for learning.…

For me, learning is the foundation for education. And without education there is just nothing to rely on. There is not a day that passes that I do not learn something new. Surrounding myself around a diverse group of people has a lot to do with as well. Over the past years, I have learned to value my diversity and how it affects my everyday life. For example, since enrolling in Teacher Cadet, I have learned so much about myself and peers that I probably would have never known until now. I’ve also learned priceless values that helped shape me into the person I am today. In most cases, we do not consider that learning is necessary to move forward in life. Honestly, learning is my passion as a young adult. There is so much in the world that I am not aware of. So when someone enlightens me on unfamiliar topics, I immediately become intrigued and interested. In actuality, I enjoy learning new things from leaders and teachers who want to see me succeed in life.…

Motivation is the driving force by which humans achieve their goals; or desire to do something. What motivated me to enroll at Grand Canyon University and pursue a degree in higher education because I believe in God and I have him within, family and friends pushed me, and I also motivated myself. Seeing all my close family and friends prepare themselves for the upcoming school year. I was tired of sitting around not doing anything with but just going to work was pointless. I have been trying and wanting to get back in school for a while but there was things holding me back like school loans that were in default and at one point I have had health issues/problems.…

Academics has always been one of my motivations. Ever since I was of a small age, my parents have consistently pushed me to succeed and thrive within academics. Unfortunately, they never had the chance to attend college which is one of the reasons why I am attending a university. I am the second member of the family to attend college as my sister was the first in the family to accomplish this. Seeing my sister go to college and being able to graduate is another reason why I am currently in college. The main reason I am in college is to be able to graduate with a degree and find a successful job.…

The primary context that motivates me to learn would be the personal context. I look at my children and know I want them to have a better life than what I can provide for them without a degree. I want them to learn by my example that actively pursuing an education in not only important for self-fulfillment but it is necessary to accomplish your dreams. I believe that I am also motivated by the idealistic context. I have a strong desire to learn and discover new things just simply for the enjoyment of learning, taking in all the highs and lows of the journey itself. I believe these two particular motivational learning contexts work well together. In tandem, they keep me focused on the goal ahead yet still reminding me to relax and take in each lesson along the way and reflect on how this new knowledge has affected my…
