I am especially gentle and caring with every child I meet and believe this is a skill that will assist me in my future. Hopefully, this course will help to widen my knowledge and understanding of a child as an individual, and also a child’s mindset. From experience, working with children can also be challenging. It is clear that every child learns differently and also, there may be other factors that contribute, such as: experiences, home life and parents’ etc. The teacher also has to consider any learning difficulties and cater to these needs.
Having chosen to do this course, I believe it will benefit as well as help take me closer to fulfilling my goal; to become a primary school teacher. To be an excellent teacher, you must aspire to assist children through their learning process and as an individual; this is definitely a quality that I possess. To be part of and involved in the process of watching a child grow, develop and learn is one of the most amazing experiences a person can have and it also makes you realise how precious life is. Having the right personality, organisational skills and ability to become a dedicated and successful teacher is

As a child I always loved my teachers. They always found a way to make learning fun and exciting. I knew I wanted to work with kids when I got older and help them find learning just as fun and exciting as I did. Everyday I’d come home from school and teach what I’ve learned to my younger siblings using the same methods my teachers used. They began finding learning just as enjoyable as I’d hoped. From then on I was inspired to be part of the life changing team of childcare workers and instill the thoughts that learning is fun in young children today.…

When I will be working with children, there is many duties and responsibilities I must carry out in order to care for their well being. This will include having a good knowledge of a child’s development. Therefore this will ensure that I am eligible to care for them, allowing me to keep them safe and know what is expected for the age. Meaning if a child is around the age of three and has not begun to speak must take precautions and let the nursery know of the this problem. I must also be able to work well with the parents of the children I care for so they can trust in me to care for the children once they are not there. Having this bond with the parents allows be to approach them with no fear and be confident in speaking to them about the child, but I must ensure that I keep a professional relationship with the parents and this will show that I give them the respect that the deserve. Furthermore I must always be on their side meaning I must not push my ideas and opinions across of how they wish for their children to be brought up, for example if they wish for their child to have a vegetarian diet I must follow there instructions.…

Being Primary Teacher can appeal to many people who are deciding on what career path to take with the vision of it being, not only extremely rewarding with a good salary and good holidays, but also fun and versatile. Not only are there arguments for and against this perception, as with any profession, but there are academic requirements which have to be met and attributes desired in order to be a successful candidate. Despite knowing the negative points to this role, it still appeals to me greatly.
