Personal Statement: A Career In Cosmetology
As a little girl i used to love going and getting my hair cut, dyed and everything in between. Around when i turned fourteen i started to take an interest in doing my own makeup just for fun and giggles, and i started going with my mom, aunts and grandma to watch them when they would get their hair done. Maybe there's no question as to why i have a passion for cosmetology. Throughout highschool i took classes that allowed me to really express who i was. Sophomore year i took a basic drawing and painting class at Meadowdale high school, where we focused mostly on drawing and shading of objects. It didn't take me long before i developed an opinion of my own artwork and seeing as i was fourteen almost fifteen i didn't think much other than that i hated everything about my work. It came easy to me and i felt good about half of the assignments i turned in to the teacher. Have you ever experienced that giddy happy feeling you get when you worked your butt off and are proud of yourself? That how i feel all the time and about 99% of my assignments in my senior year. I believe that if i pursued a career in cosmetology i would without a doubt excel to my greatest potential just like i do now in my ceramics college level class and in my new painting drawing class. My long term goal is to not only graduate from a good cosmetology program and be successful in every aspect of it but also twenty years down the road from now i can start my own business and possess my own salon. To some my dream may seem small, silly or even pathetic. My story as to why i chose this career is short but it's meaningful . i grew up watching a lot of people in this career field work with different work ethic, style, and opinions of how to do different things. The last three years of my high school career were the greatest i have had during school at
