Personal Narrative: Who's Coming To Dinner
Who's coming to Dinner Good, better, best. Never let it rest. ‘Til your good is better and better isbest. -St. Jerome. I almost finished the table for my dinner party, and heard three knocks on the door. The people that I'm bringing to dinner are Lauren Daigle, Carrie Underwood, and Olaf. They are the nicest people I've ever met. My first person I'm inviting is Lauren Daigle. Why I had chosen her was because she has such great faith for God and Jesus. Also my favorite thing to do in free time is singing, and learning more about the Heavenly Father, which is what she does, so she is a huge idol for me. What I would ask her is how she got to be so famous in her songs, and how she got to be so strong with faith. Which is exactly why I

The three musicians that I am thinking of in particular are Blake Shelton, Adam Levine, and Brett Eldredge. I would take Blake Shelton because he is s a great singer. Blake Shelton can wear the same clothes that he normally wears. Blake Shelton and Adam Levine are on The Voice together. They have an unusually weird bromance. They jokingly fight which is hilarious. Adam Levine is a great singer as well. He can also wear what he normally does. Another reason that I would like to bring Adam is that he is hot. The main reason I am bringing Brett Eldredge is that he is amazingly handsome and tall. I saw in concert last month and he great. He tall and you can tell that he would have great stories. A lot of country singers are beautiful and I would take any of them that want to tag along. I would most personally ask Blake Shelton, Adam Levine, and Brett…

On 10/15/17, approximately at 4:28am, I, Officer Rivera Ayala, responded to 613 Albers Lane in reference to a domestic trouble. Upon arrival, I met with the complainant identified as Virginia D. Matos (DOB 11/03/1982). Virginia stated that when she arrived home, her boyfriend identified as Enrique Cruz Ponce (DOB 07/20/1983) approached her and started arguing with Virginia. Virginia told Enrique that she was going to leave the house because she was tired of Enrique cheating on her. Enrique said that he was going to kill himself and placed a pocket knife around his neck. Virginia stated that she told Enrique to leave and Enrique pulled Virginia by the hair, threw her on the floor, spit in her face and somehow as she was trying to get away, Virginia was cut. Virginia stated that after this, Enrique left the house and she called the Police for help.…

As a Chinese-American, my family expected me to help out at the restaurant while maintaining straight A's in school. But, it wasn't easy; every day, I would report to the restaurant after school and immediately start working. Inside the kitchen, I would pack all the orders into aluminum containers, place them into a brown bag, and insert packets of sauces and utensils. Burns and cuts were common due to the terrible and tearable aluminum containers. Outside at the front desk, I would answer the seemingly endless ringing phones. In many instances, customers had to wait either on the phone or at the front desk for me to find their orders on the computer, even after they showed me where it was on the menu. During lunch hours, the pressure was even…

On November 22nd, The day before Thanksgiving, Rachel went food shopping with her mom.” Mom, what are we getting? “ Rachel asked with a smirk on her face. Her mom answered, “Turkey, Steak, and Mashed Potatoes. Why?“. “Because I want to know what we’re going to eat tonight!”, Rachel replied with a serious face. ”You’ll see what we’re having tonight, you’ll love it!“, Rachel’s mom replied with a smile on her face and went on looking around the store. The social-emotional domain is most of interest to me. As Humans we interact pretty much throughout our lives, our emotions often play a large role on how we develop socially and how that ties to our emotions. From birth we gradually start to develop these relationships with the people around us. Over time this process of learning to communicate, share, and interact with others takes many years to develops. We continue to develop these skills into our teenage years, and even as young adults. So with that I do believe that the development in this domain is mostly a continuous one.…

In Defense of Food was quite shocking at first. In all honesty, it made me think I was going to die within the next week due to a heart attack triggered by all the junk I eat. Considering I myself indulge in processed cookies from the aisles of Stop and Shop, and steak tips that have been marinating in salt for two days, the film hit close to home. But in all honesty, I don’t eat that bad; in comparison to the Seventh-Day Adventists I do, but I think I’m doing alright.…

My freshman year in high school, I decided to join Best Buddies. Best Buddies is a program where a high school student is paired with another student, who has an intellectual and developmental disability, in a one-to-one friendship. During my first year, I learned Best Buddies is not simply a club but a family. My second year of being a part of Best Buddies I began truly noticing a change in myself. Sophomore year I was paired with a girl one year younger than me named Carrie. She and I have become best friends and have now been buddies for the past three years. As I interacted with Carrie these past years, I began to realize disabilities do not hold people back, but that we hold ourselves back. Despite Carrie’s misfortune, she wears a smile…

I always keep this poem and picture in my wallet. I take it everywhere with me because it means quite a lot to me in two very different ways. One of those ways is because it holds sentimental value. When I was younger I learned to read very late in life and I was always so embarrassed of that. My father knew that I was struggling and bought me the book, Where the Sidewalk Ends. It is a book full of poems and little pictures written by Shel Silverstein. I remember opening the book to ta random page, and it was the page with this poem. I then remember my dad asking me to read it to him. I was so uncomfortable, even thought I was just going to be reading to my dad. He gave me some words of encouragement, and even thought I was not able to read…

In the spring of last year, my mother and I were walking down the street on our way to serve dinner to the homeless when it turned into a nightmare. The place we had enjoyed going to together and helping those in need became a place that made us shudder and think of bad thoughts. At 4:15 we were attacked and robbed in front of hundreds of people waiting in line to get the dinner that we were going to serve them. I watched, helpless, as my mom had her hair pulled and was punched multiple times. It was such a traumatic event that had a lasting impact on how I felt downtown. After the attack I remember some very kind people getting out of their spots in line to come and offer their help; this helped us to feel safer but because of the nature…

The person I choice to interview this week just like last week is also someone I turn to when I am faced with questions and concerns regarding all of my biblical classes and sometimes just personal spiritual questions. That person is my pastor and my father in law who has been a southern Baptist preacher for over thirty years. Of those thirty years he has only been pastor of two churches both, which have been very successful while he was and is presently the pastor. When we talk about anything and everything overall we have a great relationship. I choose to interview him this week because I knew he would be able to show me the more experienced side of his ministry because of his years of serving the lord.…
