Personal Narrative: What Really Happened At The Party
Of the bat, I was very skeptical about your actions at the party. It seemed normal for you to drive Kate back to her house. But after that, when it wasn’t known whether you went back to the party or if you were there for the whole thing, is when I began to build suspicion. At the party most of the people were blotto, but you were sober. This tells me that you knew your actions and how they have consequences. As your relationship with Kate started to become less chivalry, I knew questions were going to be asked by everyone, including Kate. Since everyone was clueless as to what was happening, they would look towards you to see if you had any recollection of what had occurred at Dooney’s party. Something that had stood out towards me was when you were talking to Dooney and he was asking you persistently if you deleted a photo. It turned out, that picture was taken by you when the unthinkable happened to Stacy. As Kate was trying to look for deities to help her figure out how everything happened you stood by her side, knowing you knew more than she ever did. When all four of your teammates were arrested you …show more content…
Dooney, Deacon and the rest the boys have your back all the time and you have theirs. You guys have been tromping around your town and the basketball court since forever. But in reality is that a good reason to defend sexual assault? No it’s not. It is not right that you stayed and watch your “friends” sexually assault a girl and do nothing to defend her. She was vulnerable and all of you took advantage of that. Now you have to suffer the consequences. Since people found out you lost, your girlfriend, your scholarship and your imperial rank in basketball. Being scintillating won’t get you far anymore unless you work on it. This all must be devastating to you due to the love you had for all those things. I wish you the best in life Ben. Don’t repeat these mistakes learn from them and never do it

Bramble looked like an identical mix of her parents. Just seeing Paul sends another waterfall of tears down my face. Taking a deep breath, I get up and start walking towards the podium. After grabbing onto it for support, I take a deep breath, calm down and look at the paper in my hands. "Bramble Elliot was more than just my boss’s daughter. She was way more than that. She was like the daughter I never had, always so polite and helpful. She never wanted any of us to wait on her. Life with Bramble was always a fun, entertaining show. She made us all laugh when she would walk down the grand staircase dressed to give us a fashion show in these huge fancy dresses and shoes with her makeup and hair done, because it wasn't her. Bramble was a simple girl. If she could've, she would’ve just worn baggy sweatshirts and tights every day to school. She even told me so. Bramble thought she was unloved and that no one would care if she left; boy was she wrong. What could've made a sweet girl like her feel that way? Or more so, who? When I read the note on her door,…

I tried to get someone else to take the meeting and couldn’t find anyone willing to do it. When I came home, I called the police department to tell them about the man in the backyard. How could I have known when I dressed her in those cute butterfly tights and put her hair into two pigtails that I would never see her again? We walked to the park stopped for some ice cream at the stand right in front of the Empire State Building the one with the cute drawings on the sides that look like something Elizabeth would have drawn. She kept pulling at my hand, wanting to walk ahead, but I would not let her. I remember how the wind felt as if it was going to blow us away. I held onto her extra tight hoping that she would not fly away as if she was some piece of paper. We were at the park for about an hour when my phone rang and I looked down for just a few minutes. I’ve seen plenty of other parents do it.…

Today was the day. The big day. My election for Lieutenant Governor of Division 2B for Key Club, an international service club, was today. Fear and anxiety pricked my skin in rapid movements emanating from every pore. I rehearsed my speech for the fifth time that day. Upon arrival at the Fairfax Library, I urged myself to remain calm. I quickly scouted out the other girls who were present; one girl was dressed professionally with a folder in her hand. I knew that was my competition. The girl spoke eloquently and genially, she radiated enthusiasm and a certain warmth that I did not have. With every question that was asked, she answered with a smooth smile and high-pitched tone that was dripping with sincerity. I bristled inside; I had just been slapped. I was shrouded in a cloud of anxiety and anxiousness. Suddenly, I was dragged from my reverie.…

I had just walked in the back door from playing in the enormous yard behind our house, when I suddenly see my mother and father hunched over, whispering. Accidentally getting mud all over my skirt while outside, I stayed quiet so my mother wouldn’t see. I could tell they weren’t discussing anything happy, because my mother had worry lines plastered on her forehead. Even the feeling in the room was grim, the normally bright blue couch looking like rainy gray skies. But the telltale sign that something was terribly wrong was that my father’s eyes were as dull as murky water.…

Finally, when I moved to New Orleans I started volunteer work at the Children’s Hospital and helped with pop up clinics for the Latino community twice. Overall I found that helping others shouldn't be something seen as duty or mandatory, it should be spontaneous. Through others experiences and hardships we learn and grow as human beings, not only did I enjoy helping others but I felt that it helped me with my problems. Having moved around so much and meet so many people and living by myself so many years I came to truly be thankful for my blessings and specially for my hardships. Hermann Hesse once said, "I have always believed, and I still believe, that whatever good or bad fortune may come our way we can always give it meaning and transform it into something of value." Helping others made me realize that we all need help and that my way to help others would be through their health. It also taught me not to judge anybody, especially if you don't know what they have been through. I am hard believer that everything happens for a reason, and all the weekends I spend watching my parents help others helping others myself made me the determined person that I am today. Finally, the most important lesson I learned was to never give up, no matter how hard the task is or how bad the problem is there will always be someone willing to help and you can always be both sides to that, the helper or the one who needs…
