Personal Narrative: Walden Pond
There is no place like mi casa. After a long day of school or a tiring session of work, the one place I can surely count on is home. Deep in the outskirts of Miami Gardens, this relaxing getaway destination awaits. While not the fanciest nor extravagant, my house is a convenient three bedroom apartment in the residency of Walden Pond. The building is beige with firebrick red stairs and a faded grey roof. The stairs are firm, and have rust stains due to weathering. Walking into the apartment, the aroma of Glade air freshener greets you before the people do. The walls are an orange-brown color, and immediately upon entry there are plaques and awards for my siblings showing their accomplishments in school. A glass table with flowery boutique sits …show more content…
The kitchen is decorated with polished wooden cabinets and a squeaky clean stove that shows your reflection when staring down upon it. There is also a fridge in the back of the kitchen and the trash bin resides next to the fridge. Touring the rest of the apartment there is my bedroom, my sister’s room and the master bedroom. My room suits all my needs; whether it be sleeping, eating, studying, or relaxing. My getaway place is my room. There are two twin beds in my room, and a closet full of shoes and clothes. A 50 inch television sits on top of the only black sleek dresser in the room. My room is usually where I invite all my friends over and throw parties. In my sister’s room there is a formal setup, just a simple king sized bed and a beige headstand where she keeps her television. In the hallway there is a treadmill where users can burn off calories and improve cardio. There are two bathrooms in the apartment, inside them are white walls and brown tiles in the tub. Also a mirror is above the sink to make sure people arrange themselves properly before exiting. The master bedroom hosts a bathroom, closet, and a desktop on top of a glass computer

The furniture, carpet, curtains, and tile give of such a retro feeling, like you have entered the Brady Bunchs home. With a huge ball of happiness building up in your stomach, you begin to open all the doors in the cabin, revealing what each room has to offer. The layout of the cabin seems very confusing, you cant open certain doors unless the one next to it is closed, and there are two bathrooms right next to each other. As you continue to explore the wondrous cabin, you come across a small kitchen that has food left behind from pervious visits. The whole feel of the kitchen is not like the one you have at your house, it has a much more friendly feel to it, as if its begging to be used. It blends in with the tone of the rest of the cabin, sort of very used, but stuffed with a gargantuan amount of character. The whole house just has a certain feel to it that welcomes you kick back and relax…

The house was quiet. And Johnny liked moments like these. Moments that showed how cozy and peaceful their 700 square foot home could be instead of the tumble-down house it really was. It had a kitchen/den, two bedrooms, and a bath. Their family spent most of the time in the kitchen. It was painted a pale yellow, had a wooden table with three chairs, and had a window over the sink. It connected to a hallway which connected to the two rooms. All the rooms were small but the size didn’t really bother him, it was the only place he had known for his ten years. The house was light green with white shutters on the outside. The paint had faded so much that the home almost blended into the woods.…

Inside, the living room is exquisite with fully restored oak floors, and bay windows. He shows me around the two bedrooms and marbled tiled bathrooms. We end up in the kitchen where I’m swept away with melancholy. This is the house we once envisioned one day for ourselves. Only, at the time, we were flat broke. My living room is a spacious seventeen by twenty-five foot room. It feels like fall all year round with its warm hues. My living room is a room with three and a half walls, which are painted a warm mustard yellow, giving a cozy feel. On one wall, there is a medium sized leather couch, and above it, is an iron rod frame. On the side of the leather couch is a dark wooden end table containing precious family photos, a scented candle, and a rod iron lamp with a pig hide shade. The wall to the right is similar; up against it is another leather couch. Instead of a rod iron frame on the wall, there are two windows that bring light to the room. The windows have deep olive green colored curtains on each side of the window as well as wooden blinds. The light from the windows feels as if the sun is standing right outside. In the middle of the two windows is my basic ivory colored front door.…

    My Flat

My Flat (1) We have a nice flat in a new block of flats. Our flat is on the fourth floor. It has all modern conveniences: central heating, gas, electricity, cold and hot water, a lift and a chute to carry rubbish down. There are three rooms, a kitchen, a bathroom and a hall in our flat. The living-room is the largest and most comfortable room in the flat. In the middle of the room we have a square-table with six chairs round it. To the right of the dinner-table there is a wall-unit which has several sections: a sideboard, a wardrobe and some shelves. At the opposite wall there is a piano and stool before it. Between the two large windows there is a little table with a colour TV set on it. Near the TV set there are two cosy armchairs. A small round table, a divan-bed and a standard lamp are in the left-hand corner. This small table is for newspapers and magazines. My father is used to having a rest sitting on this divan-bed reading books, newspapers, magazines or watching TV. The bedroom is smaller than the living-room and not so light as there is only one window in it. In this room there are two beds with a bedside-table between them. An alarm-clock and a small lamp with a pink lamp-shade are on the table. In the left-hand corner there is a dressing-table with a big mirror. In this room we have a built-in wardrobe with coat-hangers to hang clothes on.There is a thick carpet on the floor and plain light-brown curtains on the window. The third room is my study. It is not large but very cosy. There isn't much furniture in it, only the most necessary. It has a writing-table and an armchair before it. In the righthand corner there is a bookcase full of books, magazines and newspapers. A small table with a radio is standing in the left-hand corner. Near it there is a sofa with some cushions. In my opinion, the study is the best room in our flat. But the warmest place in our flat is the kitchen, I think — the place where the whole family gathers every evening not only to…
