Personal Narrative: The Will And Jada Smith Family Foundation Career
The Will & Jada Smith Family Foundation Careers in Entertainment Tour on Wednesday, April 26 at One Discovery Place, Silver Spring, MD was truly magical. I felt surround by peers that shared a similar goal (again

The cultural event that I attended was the lecture with the Picking Cotton authors Jennifer Thompson and Ronald Cotton. The event was located in Memorial Coliseum where Jennifer Thompson and Ronald Cotton talked about there story. I chose to attend this activity not only for my cultural event, but also because I thought it would be interesting and helpful. I actually enjoyed reading the book and I wanted to hear more about their story and experiences. I was really interested in seeing what they looked like and being able to put a face to the characters of the book. I’m really glad I went to this event because it was great to hear what they had to say and the advice they gave everyone. I think it had a large impact on not only…

“ If you lay down, people will step over you. But if you keep scrambling, if you keep going, someone will always, always give you a hand. Always. But you gotta keep dancing, you gotta keep your feet moving” (Brainyquote, n.d.). This quote was stated by Morgan Freeman, a respected individual in the entertainment business. I chose him as my research project because I’ve seen him in a lot of movies and I wanted to know more about him. I think it was interesting to see that, though he was a good actor as a kid, he never really wanted to do it as a career until later. Morgan Freeman has changed the entertainment business for the better with his amazing acting and narration skills.…

About nine months ago, I made one of the biggest changes in my professional life, that would have profound impact on my non-profit that I lead. After not being satisfied with the disorganization of the non-profit. I made a change similar to the re-orientation discussed in the one assigned readings (Nadler 1989). I knew if I didn’t make the changes, my non-profit would have to go into recreation mode within 5-7 years (Nadler 1989). I knew once the company was in recreation mode, it would not be long before the company would be extinct (Nadler 1989). I got rid of most of our departments and created new departments with different organization structure, volunteers, expectations, and rules.…

The world is filled with new, exciting experiences and adventures that change a person’s outlook on life. A person is said to leave an experience much different than when he or she entered it. I had one of those life changing experiences in high school. In August of 2016, I decided to apply for the Disney Dreamers Academy presented by Steve Harvey and Essence Magazine. The Disney Dreamers Academy is a four day weekend in Walt Disney World where 100 selected high school students around the nation participate in various workshops and sessions hosted by a variety of celebrities and Disney employees. I discovered the program online while trying to look for internship opportunities offered at the Walt Disney Company. Among the more than 10,000…

Being myself became an article of my creed after watching the movie. To share this motto, I created a website for young students exploring their future careers. It provides classes in fields of extracurricular activities, preparation of entrance examination, and job experiences. My purpose of opening the website was to guide students the way to express their own strong points by providing mentoring lectures. I did not want to let students confide to the social norms that judge them by their degrees. Instead, I definitely believed that it was necessary to discover the uniqueness of themselves and decide their special careers. I have uploaded approximately 80 lectures in the website in order to help the students make their identities inimitable and original. I was also the one who participated in lecturing by delivering contents about the effective methods for interviews. Based on my…
