Personal Narrative: The Transtheoretical Model
According to the Transtheoretical Model, I am currently in the Maintenance stage. My last two New Year’s resolutions have been to increase my healthy eating and exercise. Daily my focus is to eat right, and exercise. These past two years I’ve been shopping at Moms organic store. I shop there and buy fresh vegetables ranging from carrots to onions. Super fruits such as bananas and avocado are always on the list. Oats and bananas has become my favorite breakfast meal. I even buy organic pasture raised eggs. From my knowledge those are the highest quality to eggs to buy. Costing me 8 dollars a dozen! I even cook my own meals at home buying organic pasta and meats. The gym isn’t really my thing, so each day at home I go through a workout routine. The routine consists of pushups, diamond pushups, leg ups, a form of crunches and squats. I try to incorporate at least 60 minutes of exercise a day. I use a app on my phone to track my activity. If I don’t; obtain 60 minutes by my regular daily activity, I go out for jogs in my …show more content…
Making my own cleaning agents has been something on my mind as of late, but haven’t gotten around to it. Over the past year I have learned it is quite easy to make your own soap and toothpaste. Other than that I believe I do a good job in that department. Spiritual in no surprise came to be a 12. My mother raised me as a Christian, so going to church was a part of my childhood. Over the recent year’s church has become a rarity, only attending special days, such as new year’s and Easter Sunday. Personally at this time in my life, I just don’t have the answer. I don’t really go full out in life as a human being there are somethings outside my comfort zone that would help me experience life to the fullest. I often find myself wasting time, so finding ways to expand my comfort zone can be beneficial at my stage in

Walking into the locker room about to get ready to go to our last football game of the season. I could smell the sweaty equipment from the kids who never take their pads home. The Hempfield Spartans 7th grade team would be ending their season 0-7 if we didn’t win today. As I was changing into my pads my friend mike walked in the room. I said “you ready for tonight”. “Heck yeah” replied Mike.…

In chapter 12, the key event to me was when Claudia and Finn talked to each other through the keys. I felt many emotions when reading their interaction one of them being happy. I felt happy when they talked to each other because it was a turning point in the story in my opinion. I also felt surprised because at first, I thought by having two keys, there would be a lock that would need both keys to hear and speak to each other. I also felt confused by the way they conversed; How could they now hear each other but not before. I think by having one key being touched, the other key can hear because on page 153 Claudia says she breathed and rubbed on the key making it warm and on page 154 Finn says when he touches the key it's warm.I like the way the author wrote the scene from both perspectives, it gave us the readers a clearer understanding of how both Finn and Claudia felt. I also like how the author described the way both keys affect each other and have a "key" connection.…

Change. From the first breath inhaled to the last, we change hundreds, thousands, of millions of times throughout the entirety. These changes may not always be so obvious, whereas others are blaringly distinct. Change is inevitable, especially as the environment, technology, economy, and people develop. Us, human beings, we are flexible, able to adapt and survive. However, as we adapt to these changes, we can not let these changes compromise our beliefs and principles by which we abide and hold close to our hearts.…

There has been many cases in which I have helped an outsider feel welcome. One time in particular is when I played tag with this little boy at church since he was new and no one else played with him. Originally, I was outside eating candy and talking to my friends at church. I noticed that this little boy was standing all alone watching all the other little kids play without him. I thought that maybe he was upset so I went over to him and asked if he wanted the rest of my gummy worms. He seemed nervous at first, but eventually he started talking to me. I learned that he was five years old and he was visiting his grandparents for the weekend. His older brother was outside playing basketball with some of the other older boys at the church, and…

I exercise on a regular basis and I try to watch the foods I eat. One only key changes I have made to meet the recommendations from the tracker is to take vitamin supplements. I have started doing this to make sure that my body is receiving all of the vitamins it needs on a daily basis. Even though I already have a pretty good nutrition and exercise plan, there are a few goals I have to assist me in optimizing my good health. One nutritional goal is to increase my water intake. I typically drink water while at work but I often drink soda while at home. In order to reach this goal I will have to stop purchasing soda at the grocery store and replace it with low calorie, low sugar drinks. By not having soda conveniently in my home, I will be more likely to drink healthier options such as water. My second nutritional goal is to track the foods I eat. Tracking the food I consume will help to make sure that I am getting the proper amount of fruits, vegetables, grains, and dairy. To meet this goal I will begin to write down everything I eat throughout the day. I have some physical exercise goals as well. One physical exercise goal is to become more active on a regular basis. I currently workout three days a week and I would like to increase that to at least five days a week. Another physical exercise goal I have for myself is to increase…

At times I feel as though I'm trying and failing to be a human being. But what makes us human? I feel although I'm a human-shaped shell made out of pieces of things I find interesting. Instead of a real identity. Just layers of things that I hope will make me different from others. But am I? We rely so much on the opinion of others. But why? Why do we crave acceptance of others? If people were to look closely, they'd notice there really isn't anything there.Just a mess of a person trying to find their ‘place in the world. All we want is to be remembered. Just to prove we are something , we where something. How will I be remembered? Or will I fade into oblivion? Is this the meaning of life? To spend it hoping we have some significance in this…

My mother, “Regina Hopkins,” has been a positive influence in my life. She has raised 6 kids all by herself as well as earned a Bachelor’s degree in nursing from a City College in Gainesville, Florida. My mother has been through pretty much everything a person can go through outside of war and was still able to be there and provide for all 6 of her kids. In high school, my mother wanted to play football and couldn't because she was a girl and back-in-the-day women were not allowed to play football with the guys. However, she remained strong by raising 6 kids and independently took care of all of us on her own. My mother has several qualities that I would love to develop. The first quality she has is balance; she certainly knows how to make…

One of the most uncertain things that all humans face is their real identity. This difficulty has caused a lot of confusion on who we really are and how we become our own person. There are many different theories to how people can identify themselves, but one of the leading notions is the Identity Theory. This theory claims that people become who they are based on experiences and life lessons. They believe that one’s own experiences will cause them to shape how they will identify themselves. Following that theory, it is reasonable to assume that all experiences whether positive or negative will have a direct impact on your identity. However, some psychologists believe that negative memories or experiences will cause a much significant change…

Ever since I was born, I was a military brat. Not knowing where to call home, or if any place could be home, I moved. I moved six times, four of those places were towns that nobody could think about. Germany, North Carolina, Alaska, North Carolina, Germany, and Alaska, yet no place to call home. May 22, 1999, my first day on this world; Kronach hospital had its first American baby in their hands, yet they acted like I was a different species. The only event I remember was when I was about one. While I was one, I grabbed everything in my reach, even a grill handle. As a baby, I did not know that the handle was moving, the grill top had smashed my thumb. I see myself as someone who is expressive. I am an outgoing girl and I find making friends to be a simple task. However, I am one of those people who will not fully open up to you unless I know I am comfortable. I am an open book, as long as the person reading me takes it one page at a time and doesn't jump chapters. I believe that I am this was because of how I grew up. I learned early on that you can't trust everyone you know, and you can't keep toxic people around. Day in and day out at school, I always tried to fit the mold of the stereotypical highschool student. Timid and shy, but more than willing to fit in with everyone else. Finally as a senior I have realized it is more important to be seen as yourself than as a copy of everyone else…
