Personal Narrative: The Game Of Football
Growing up the only girl where I stayed I did a lot of things with the guys. I learned how to play the game of football which I had liked so much. The guys accepted me as one of them because we had a lot of fun together. When it was too cold to play football or baseball it was snowing. By that time we had started throwing snowballs at each other also passing cars. I had gotten into a lot of trouble as a kid for the things that I did in a playing manner but none of it was ever to serious. Especially the time Mikey and I had led this one guy on a chase all over

When I was younger, I enjoyed playing with dinosaurs, getting dirty, and made friends with all the boys. As I got older and became interested in boys, I realized they saw me as one of them, and not girlfriend potential. This made me begin to change things. I realized that males see "feminine females" as more attractive, and began to wear dresses more often, painted my nails, and was generally more of a girly girl. And though I still perform many of the gender performances, I am still a little different in that I know about cars, play video games, and like…

I started doing good in 12s but not as good as I wanted to and was expected. Thomas became my full time coach and I actually became really fond of him. We went to a lot of different camps that I would get invited too and was getting better. Around this time, a girl that had just started playing tennis started to come to practice and I knew who she was because I played her and my dad told me that her dad was a doctor he worked with. I tried to be nice with her but I didn't really become friends with her and she became closer to another girl named Laura. I was still friends with them and would walk with them but it was more their friendship then me with them. We all ended up traveling together with Thomas to different tournaments and that was always really fun, and that was around the time that tennis really became my life. I started realizing how many times I would say "can't. have tennis" and it didn't really bother me much, at first. My friends understood when I couldn't spend the night because i had tennis early the next day or when I couldn't do anything on weekdays and most weekends but that was tennis and that was…

I came from a family of really athletic people. My Mom and sister Kaitlyn both played softball from a young age and had many great accomplishments. My sister Kassidy played soccer from a young age as well. I have a lot to live up to. I started playing soccer when I four and I played for one year until I was no longer interested in it anymore. I started softball when I was five, and it wasn’t my favorite. I then retreated back to soccer for a few years. When I was in second grade, I cut my ankle on the bowl that my dog broke when I was trying to get cereal because I was hungry. After that I really didn’t want to play soccer anymore, so I decided to retire my soccer cleats forever. After this, I tried various different ranging from swim team to softball, and as you can imagine, softball stuck. When it did though, it came with my hot-headed personality showing. There was no way around it. I was also very independent, which could be a good thing in some cases, but as I got older I was required to do more group work. I just didn’t know how to.…

Eighth grade year, gym class, flag football. I remember this day like it was yesterday. I had a fuming hatred for the gym teachers and their actions toward these pre-pubescent kids who take everything a little too personally, but with these rude teachers each and every reaction from each and every kid was appropriate. The only way I could describe these teachers is 40 year olds who find joy in making 13 year olds miserable. So, it all began when the flag football unit started. I wasn’t afraid of the evil humans we called gym teachers; I spoke my mind. Football was usually the last unit every year and every year the girls had to relearn how to play football, while the boys got to go play outside right away without an ounce of review. Because I am me, this wasn’t going to fly.…

It all started at ninth street with some friends of mine John and I started recruiting some people to come play football with us. I honestly didn’t know I had a pretty decent arm. I originally was going to start practicing to play wide receiver instead of quarterback. At the time Odell Beckham Jr. ( wide receiver for the New York Giants ) was extremely explosive and dynamic on offense. Seeing him blow up on offense made me want to try out for wide receiver. But somehow John convinced me to play quarterback.…

My passion is soccer which I have played soccer since I was 5. I was put in soccer because my mom and my dad were athletic and played many sports as a child. I was very active always running around so soccer was a good way to get my energy out. As I got older, I continued to play because I found it fun and it was nice to meet new people but I never truly felt the love for soccer until I was eight. I was on a team called, Too Hot to Handle with Coach Kakimoto.…
