Personal Narrative: The Criminal Justice System
The police said it was a robbery and that my father car was found stripped and left up on blocks. My father was barely hanging on for dear life when one of the attorneys from his old job came to tell me that his disability would now be cut off because there would be no way to tell if his injuries was from the job or from the robbery. Oh, but if that wasn’t adding salt to an already open wound, Mack Cannoli arrived to ask me how was I going to pay my father’s debt now that he can’t. What the man had offered as a way to help pay the debt had me taking a swing at him, but his men stopped me. Luckily, the police officer who was investigating the robbery walked in. I was calling them loan sharks and that my father was on his way to pay …show more content…
I had enough money saved up to pay for a lawyer to fight and win against those greedy bastards trying to stop my father’s disability and had even won some compensation for them causing me pain and suffering and for my attorney’s fees. I took that check and gave it directly to the hospital. My father was still in bad shape, and it was going to be a long hard journey, but on the mend. The people at the hospital were kind enough to transport him to my graduation at no cost. I knew once I start working at the Trystan’s Corporation, I would be able to pay for his care. Once again, just as everything was looking to go my way, it had changed once again. I had stopped into the Trystan’s Corporation the day after my graduation to see if they had a schedule for when I was to start their new young executive’s program. I was told that it would start in about two weeks and that I should be made aware that it was against company policy to have a family member working under me. I thought it seemed strange for her to say this to me and asked her why would she bring something like that to my attention? For some reason alarm bells rang inside my head and my temper flared. Sometimes I hate it when I’m right, and this was one of …show more content…
The man with Mr. Lang invited me to have lunch with them to make sure I wouldn’t change my mind about becoming a young executive. Whoever this man with Mr. Lang with had to be someone important and not the kind of person you made your apologies to when you turn them down. However I was in jeans and a t-shirt with my college crest on it. Before I had a chance to explain myself, the man took my hand a wrapped it around his arm and started walking me to the door. He made his apology for being so forward and introduced himself. He was Edmond Trystan, the owner of the Trystan Corporation and thought to doubly make sure I would come to work for him. He was going to give me a graduation present. I walked into a restaurant I would never imagine to ever see the inside and had a complete executive wardrobe on its way to my house after the alterations were

About the only good thing that came out of me going to jail was meeting this guy named Lev. He was a skinny guy that did not look like he committed a vicious crime. He didn’t he was in jail for looting a dead German on Voinova Street. He was really rude when I tried to make company, but I could understand why because at times like these you can’t trust anyone. I asked him if he was a Jew and he did not appreciate that, because he thought I looked like a Nazi, but after he found I wasn’t he was ok with the question. I gave him some sausage because I figured he would be hungry. We both were wondering why they didn’t shoot us because that was the punishment for both of our measly little crimes. I started to take notes in my journal on Ushakovo’s…

“The defendant is…not guilty,” said the judge. Yes, my plan actually worked. I can’t believe that Herb actually made everybody agree that I was innocent. I actually got away with killing my idiotic father. Oh I despised him so much, he would beat me and yell at me for no apparent reason. I remember that day like it was yesterday, I went to the drugstore and bought myself a switchblade knife. I was so irritated and I was ready to do anything to get rid of that old hag. I walked into the apartment and he was sitting down at the table. I snuck up behind him and stabbed him in the chest as hard and fast as I possibly could. He yelled then turned around and looked at me with a shocked look then fell on the ground. Right when he died, I felt devastated but also overjoyed because I wasn’t going to get abused anymore, however, I also lost my dad.…

At first, hearing that I’m able to do anything I want with no repercussions sounds amazing, but when I think more and more about it, it doesn’t seem as pleasing. When I begin to think about this concept, I think about things that increases my wealth and stuff that I just want. Of course, it would be fun to break the law for the first couple of times, but after that, it just gets boring and tedious. Not only that, I don’t think I could just do certain things. My morals and the way I grew up wouldn’t allow me. Furthermore, life would be pointless. There wouldn’t be a reward system. For example, I wanted a pair of shoes. My parents didn’t want to buy for me because they didn’t see them as something I needed, so I worked for it. I worked as a…

I've sat for a long time. I've never known what to say about me. Is he like a monk: quiet, and contemplative? Is he like a fighter: full of bold pride, and anger? I've always been curious, asked myself these questions. There's never been a solid answer. People are too fluid for that. Defined moment by moment, we're allotted some freedom in what we do and who we can be.…

On a hot summer day in July, I was driving on the highway and I heard a loud noise coming from underneath the car. The car began to shake vigorously. I tensed my grip on the steering wheel and quickly put on my right signal. .I slowly pulled over to the right shoulder. I jumped out of the car and noticed my right front tire was flat .I started to panic being alone and not knowing how to change a flat tire. I had just passed my driver license test only six months ago and had never experienced this problem. I pulled out my cell phone and called my Dad. I explained the situation and asked if he could come help change the flat tire. He said yes that he could help but sounded angry when I told him I was in Roseville. I sat and waited in the hot sun for 45 minutes until he arrived. This whole situation could have been avoided if I knew how to change a flat tire.…

May 19th, 2013 I had dreamt of that day for almost four years. I know I can’t be the only person who feel this way. I remember it as if it was just yesterday. As I walked towards the bus, I excitedly played with my plushy mallet; unknowingly that squishy mallet would be my most hated possession soon. I did not want to leave Arizona State University. I think that this question is great. This is not something that I have really thought about. Honestly, I do not feel like I use my strengths every day. I believe that I am good at interacting with people and I have a pretty good attention to detail when it comes to my work. Since being promoted to supervisor, I have not really gotten to use those skills as much as I would like. In the past, I would get to talk to drivers and their previous employers on a daily basis. I was usually good at getting information from the previous employers that they were not required to give and I did a pretty good job of making drivers feel more relaxed. Since being promoted, most of my work consists of doing paperwork and making sure everyone else is doing what they are supposed to. Sometimes I miss being on the front lines. Growing up, I wanted to be a police officer because I felt my skills would be very useful in that position. Due to the dangers of the position, my wife had her worries and I just sort of drifted away from that. Sometimes I still think of what might have been. Would I have been…

I rode a taxi towards the terminal. I looked at the I.D. of the driver and found out that it was Fulbert Umilig. He was unsuccessful in his life and ended up as a taxi driver. After we reached the terminal, I gave him my fare and gave him more as an extra. I ride again a bus. I seated at a vacant seat and waited there for quite some time. After a while a man seated at the seat next to mine. He is holding a laptop. He is short and his hair is straight. I remembered that it was Louie Gee Sandoval. I greeted him and luckily he remembered me. We talked about our past experiences and how are we now. He ended up as a computer engineer. I thought of the past when we were still in high school about our being fond about computer games. I looked out of the window and saw the changes in our city. He asked me why I suddenly come back home. I told him that our former teacher had a favor and I accepted it. We…
