Personal Narrative: Running Back At Muskegon Catholic High School

Good Essays
I was at Muskegon Catholic High School playing a scrimmage for football. I was on defense playing the corner back position. The ball was snapped, the running back ran right and I ran towards him. I lowered my body, it was going to be a perfect tackle. I almost had him. The running back was right there. When I went in for the tackle I got hit. I dropped. Sitting there thinking "what the hell just happened". It turned out to be my buddy that smoked me in the head. I also remember the other team saying "ooooo". When I got up I didn't think to much of the hit but then a few plays later I soon got called off the field. When I got called off the field I was sweating hard. That being, I took off my football gloves. Next thing I know I looked down …show more content…
One of my friends asked me if I was okay and i said "yeah I am fine". But then he asked me if I was okay after the hit? I said "yeah it hurt a little bit I'm okay now". Not thinking to much about the hit I started walking down the sideline to some of my other buddy's and then all of a sudden I felt super light headed so I sat down on the ground and soon enough another trainer came over and said if I was alright which I wasn't. The trainer checked me out for a little bit and asked me multiple questions which I thought I answered correctly but before you know it there was a ambulance and a fire truck sitting in the parking lot. With the paramedics rushing over to get me they soon put me on a stretcher and took me to the ambulance. I'm not gunna lie I was really scared one being I didn't know why I was being put into a ambulance, and because my parents were not down at the games to see if I was okay or where I was …show more content…
The only problem was my phone, backpack, all my football gear was still at the field. I remember wishing my mom was here and soon enough my mom came into the room. I was so happy she came because I didn't know anyone there and it was scary being alone. Not a single coach came with me. After the doctors said that I am good to leave we soon left. The doctors said to not do any activities in a week. With that being I gave it a week but I should have waited some more time. When I went back to work my first day back was a full day of work at AJ's. By the end of the night I started to get light headed again and feeling really bad. I felt like I was going to pass out. I've never felt this much pain. I needed to do something about it and I knew I couldn't drive home so I had to call my mom. When she picked me up she knew I needed to go to the hospital again. When we got to the hospital they quickly put a IV in me and said that I was lacking fluids in my body. When they started to pump fluids in my body I could feel the blood/fluids going into my veins. We were in the hospital for 3 hours. In conclusion, Football can be very ruff and there is no way you can judge a situation on what is about to happen because in football anything can happen. I have been through a lot playing football and I love the

inside run game and we needed a full back. I was a pretty big running back and not as fast as some of the others so all of the other players were telling me to play full back. I got mad and didn’t like being told to go to full back so I said “No”. The other guys were saying “you’re way too slow to play running back” and “You have never even played running back why would you try now”, I just took it all in and didn’t say anything. I continued to play running back and try and prove them wrong. After…

I shuffled across the field watching the running back take the ball running to the right side. I was the only one there to make the tackle Tyler and Kai both got blocked by Lineman and Landon got blocked by a receiver. I ran across the field, we both met at the pylon I only had to hit him out of bounds so I dove……. And I missed. As I fell to the ground my eyes were closed. I opened my eyes and I felt a sharp pain in my right elbow. It felt like my arm had split into 2. I looked over and I saw Landon…

Today, my family and I went to the mall for Back to School shopping, and all I have to say is it went the absolute worst way possible. As soon as we stepped into a JCPenny, my mother darted for the most plain shirts you will ever see. They were all the same too! It was a tacky plaid, two-buttoned tee with a butterfly collar. She didn’t notice I didn’t like it until she looked over at my uneasy face. “What? It’s only $20!”, she said. I explained how everyone poke fun at me, and how my rep will lower…

hurried towards the field house at Glenbrook South High School. For the first time since late March, frost dusted the grass, turning it an icy green. Although I was wearing three layers of clothing, each thicker than the previous, every breath I took sent shivers running down my spine. How I would survive two miles of this wearing only a singlet and short-shorts was beyond me. Running had only become a part of my life since the start of the school year. Hesitantly, I joined as a way to stay in…

Looking back when I attended elementary and high school, I was always shy and did not like public speaking or getting up in front of crowds. I realize as an adult that fear has held me back for all these years. My dad was a pastor and he would make me and my siblings sing in front of the church and I was so nervous, I could almost feel myself passing…

Dear High School, I think I have the most to write about with you. You are not one place; you are four years that I've experienced in two places. My first year with you was at Gateway. Out of my four years, that is the one I'll always remember. It was my first year out of middle school and the way people talked about it made it seem as if you were the big, scary, bully who was coming after me. However, when I finally got there, it seemed the opposite. You weren't scary, mean, or anything else.…

As I saw the blood orange track surface that smelled of fresh rubber, I quickly realized that I have finally accomplished my biggest goal. I have been dreaming about running on that track since I was a freshman in high school. Being a senior, I aimed to run my last race of my high school career at outdoor state. Coach Bell would say to me, “Walterhouse, I can’t wait to watch you run at state.” “Coach, I can’t wait either.” I would say in a reassuring tone. I could feel the pressures and expectations…

When he had said that, everyone ran and shoved each other as they get out of this classroom while I just walked out without shoving or chatting to people. I'm guessing they ran out because it was the end of the day and the Kahn's were having a 'Back to School' party tonight. I wasn't invited, but I didn't mind since ever since the ' Alison Fight' I had been invited to less and less parties until I no longer was invited to anyone's parties. As I walked towards my car, I spotted a Dark Brown haired…

Have you ever done something that you regretted and wished you can undo? I did something that I regret and if I could change one thing about my life, I would change how seriously I took education back in high school. When I think about my past, I can admit that I took my high school education as a joke. For example, when I took the ACT, I left the test room earlier because I wanted to go home. I did not think about how my score would affect my education in the future. In addition, I did not…
