Personal Narrative-Rebecca Martin's Baby
“Abigail” he calls sweetly as she opens the front door to their sullen home. She steps inside and the air instantly turns sour, the little voice in her head warning her not to go any further. She swallows her uneasy feeling and walks slowly towards his voice. She rounds the corner and sees him lying on the couch.

“I’m sorry baby. I really am. You know I’m just trying to keep you safe right?” She closes her eyes and leans her back against me trying to let his words soothe her jittery nerves. Just then she hears a bird’s cry and her eyes spring open as she remembers the dove. She pushes him away and cradles the knife she was still carrying. His fingers meet her face, sending stinging pain through her jaw and she stumbles backwards, grabbing her cheek. The vision of the dove flashes before her eyes again and before she is aware of what she’s doing, she plunges the knife into his abdomen. She wrenches out the knife and scrambles towards the front door.
“Abby come back!” he

Delta shakes her head, ready to retort a response, when Eleanor walks out of the house. She looks much more put together than before, her blond hair in a neat braid and not a trace of the tear that were there before. But there’s still a haunting looking behind her eyes, one of fear and, under that, frustration. She strides down the stairs, towards the car.…

“Did Aubrie ever tell you how her mother died, or is believed to have died.” Parker shakes his head ‘no’ in response. “When Aubrie was four years old, her and her mother were asleep in that room.” He points at the room where Aubrie is sleeping. “All I know is that I heard her mother screaming, and then my daughter was gone by the time I broke the door down. But the reason I am telling you to keep her safe is because her mother wasn’t the only one to go missing. My wife and I had a house not too far away from here, before we bought this cabin, and she went missing. She taken from our home in the middle of the night. All that was left was bloody footprints and an open window. Even before that, her mother disappeared in a similar way. It is very unusual, and no one has still figured out what is happening. The bitterness was hard to control in my voice, in that moment I could not have stopped the venom seeping through my words – I desperately wished that she had never spoken of me to him. I knew that in the bottom of my heart I hated to be violent, but I could not help but feel a release and sort of pleasure in cleaving the air. (I don't know about this part – work on…
