Personal Narrative: Queen Elizabeth I
In the case that time travel was a realistic and safe mode of transportation, the person whom I would visit would be Queen Elizabeth I. The trials that she faced were unbearable, yet she survived. Growing up, reading the story of her lifetime was an inspiration and seemed unreal. By reading a group of books covering the Tudor monarchy, I learned of Queen Elizabeth and a time period roughly 600 years ago. The books came as a trilogy, following the lives of her mother, Anne Boleyn, her half-sister Mary and of herself. Each of the women had wonderfully defined personalities, however my favorite character is Elizabeth. For her charm and strong will moreover her strategic management of her affairs at court. Enduring countless difficulties from …show more content…
Additionally, her vigor motivates me to overcome my fears. Her will to survive have become an inspiration to not to accept defeat and more importantly to stand up for my beliefs. Standing on her own two feet, a trailblazer of her time and for women in modern times. In a similar manner, I have been able to be withhold my ideas regarding my future despite obstacles. I have the strong desire to solely adopt children, although others have stated I should have biological children as well. Yet, I am not as much of a push over as before. I stand up for my desire to be a mother to children who do not have a mother. Providing a home and a family to the children who are already out living in the world. Having my own children does not scare me nor am I afraid of the pain of labor. Rather I cannot justify the deprivation of a home to a child who needs one, I want to provide that love to a child. There are already enough children out there in search of love. In meeting Queen Elizabeth, I could learn from one of the strongest women in history, how she stood her ground on her beliefs and to be as determined in her course of action. Despite those around her demanding that she marry in order to have a stable crown, she remained unmarried in a patriarchal society. I want to learn how to have that type of confidence in

This allows them to give us insight from a brand new perspective that could be more beneficial than a perspective from our peers. Personally, I have been exposed to constructive advice from my grandparents. They grew up in the 1960s and 1970s and come from a time of revolutionary ideas and social reform. Influenced by their time, they gave me the greatest piece of advice I will ever receive: “Be kind to everyone, you never know what is happening in their lives.” Due to those meaningful words my whole demeanor has changed and I treat people with even more kindness and respect. On a grander scale, her majesty Queen Elizabeth II grants her kin with timeless advice. Since she is ninety years old, The Queen has lived through various time periods that each hold their own importance. She holds wisdom that once given to her relatives and children, they have a wholehearted understanding of the world. When The Queen sadly departs, her family has the potential to craft a bright future for England from their understanding of its past and the worldly insight given by her…

My actions are always a direct showcase of my personal characteristics. A few that are particularly important are having patience, being non-judgmental, and thinking creatively. I learned a majority of my patience through my position as a research position. Research does not have immediate results; a good experiment takes time. My seemingly menial tasks, such as entering data, eventually contributed to the final product. I learned to be non-judgmental in my time shadowing an obstetrician, where I interacted with patients with so many stories. To judge them would cause a disservice, and potentially harm them. Finally, I learned to think creatively during my time at the Guild for Human Services. Each student was unique in his or her problems,…
