Personal Narrative Of My Car
November eighth of last year, a day that will live with me forever, evolved into a day that my car (Lexi the Lexus) and I almost died. On this lovely Sunday afternoon, some friends and I headed out to enjoy our normal Sunday Funday. Shortly after leaving the house for a drive, the song “Jesus, Take the Wheel” started playing. About ten minutes after the song we sped along about 75 mph down a blacktop back road, singing, laughing, living the time of our lives, and carrying on as normal, when we hit rock. After hitting rock, we started fishtailing for about a mile down the road, and we all began screaming, “Jesus, please take the wheel!” After gaining control of the car, I finally surrendered, throwing my hands up in the air and closing my eyes, just hoping for the best, and knowing that in the end, all of it happened for a reason. Lexi the Lexus eventually came to a sudden stop. Scared to open my eyes, I finally roused myself and squinted to see where we ended up. We sat in a ditch full of swampy Snake Run water that filled the entire driver’s side of my car. …show more content…
I pulled myself together enough to call my grandpa, who performed miracles when needed in order to help me out. Shortly after describing to him with my horrifying directions where I happened to be, he arrived with my uncle who loves to harass anyone and everyone with as much crap as he possibly can. After doing everything they possibly could with my uncle’s truck and grandpa’s Jeep, and after trying ten different ways of trying to pull Lexi out, and getting nowhere, we finally decided to call my lovely mom, who we all knew would scream, and who, to make matters worse, left

“I DON’T CARE MOM!” I screamed at the top of my lunges. We were driving along I-95 on the sway home from my successful driver's license test. I was 16. I was normal. The radio played in the background but it couldn’t be heard over my mom yelling. This was the same crap I dealt with every day. I could have sworn that woman tried to find something to fight over: this time it was about how I should, “be more responsible” and “find a job” and “needing to grow up!”…

My choice has got me bruised, fractured and, or almost clean breaks. My choice is bull riding. When I was 10 I started to ride. My first ride I hung on and got 2nd place. I thought it was so fun and easy that I would try it with no gear because I got beginner's luck. So the next rodeo was my keiki rodeo and I thought I could ride it.... 3 seconds went by and I got stepped on my hand and back. I had been checked out by the ambulance and ice packed. I thought just because it happened one time it wouldn't happen again. So I tried riding with only chaps so my legs would get as sore. So my next keiki rodeo I hung on for 6 second, which means I made my time, but just as I heard the buzzer ring with a loud "brapppphhh" I flopped over onto my back…

Today is starting off to be a wonderfully beautiful day. The cold morning air is rich with both oxygen and moisture, which smells like the recipe for power to me! As I, Sandra Sandpile, am waiting to watch the sun rise, while the birds sing. I then drifted off into a time and a place of past excitement and adventure.…

The narrative, The Driver’s Seat struck home for me because I just received my driver’s license this past May, 2015. I took time for me to actually drive and to become comfortable behind the wheel of a car. This piece of writing spoke to me and allowed me to review some of the identical thinking points that I went through while getting to the point of taking control of my dad’s car. The story effectively walked me through the trials of spirit and mental anguish that preceded me in taking hold of the vehicle with my dad as the co-pilot giving directions. This was the exact thing the driving instructor in The Driver’s Seat‘ taught the author. The routine of how to maneuver and throw caution to the wind- taking risks- to get the author over…

As I stepped into the mud colored cattle car, just the sight of it had made me wince. As I entered, it was like the other passengers were staring at me with shame, since if you were in the cattle car you had to of done something bad. I quickly put my head down. I could just feel the sticky wretched smell of feces and body odor in the car. My mother and I put our suitcases on the shelves, heaving them with all our strength to the very top shelf. We waited hours for in the dark, crammed, and smelly car before we started moving.…

The day I took off on my 4 wheeler, and left my Mom and Dad in the dust. It started out awesome and fun, then turned out to be very scary. It was July 4, 2013, my family and I loaded up our 4 wheelers for a fun day in the great outdoors. We all unloaded our 4 wheelers, then took off out into the desert. I wanted to see how fast I could go around the sharp corners on dirt roads. It was so much. I was having so much fun seeing how fast I could drive my 4 wheeler, around the sharp dirt road corners, I never looked back.…

In the years that I have owned my car, I did not necessarily know how to properly wash it. I never realized the damage I have done to my car. Without the proper equipment, I have continuously damaged my car over time. Using just any equipment to clean my car will slowly cause swirls or spider webs on the surface of my car, which are thousands of micro scratches that have a negative impact on the overall appearance. Tools and a proper way of washing and drying can make a big difference when washing my car. However, following these tips will help the washer understand how I properly wash my car from top to bottom.…

I know you constantly claim that there is nothing wrong with my car, but Kevin holds a large amount of problems and difficulties that are constantly looked over. For example, Kevin’s engine can be heard from miles away, and the engine gets so obnoxiously loud in the vehicle that you cannot hear the person sitting next to you. In addition, Kevin’s brakes screech like nails on a chalkboard, the rearview mirror has fallen from the windshield many times before, and the CD player does not function properly. Often I find myself discovering some other element of the car that is damaged or broken. Kevin looks and runs smoothly now, but who is to say that he will tomorrow?…

I’m not satisfied with my car ride; it’s too rough. For instance, when a road surface has grooves in it, the wheels get pulled in every direction. My tires’ treads seem too deep for ordinary city driving. Bumps and potholes usually send my passengers’ heads straight into the roof. When I bought my car, I asked about its stiff suspension and heavy-duty tires. The salesperson told me that the suspensions’ elements would eventually soften for a smoother ride, but they haven’t. I should have known not to trust anyone’s words more than my own instincts.…

Friday, October 24th was the day I almost died. I got in a life-threatening car accident. My seatbelt saved my life. If I didn’t have my seatbelt on when I wrecked I would be dead even with medical attention. I swerved to prevent a wreck between the black suv, the other car involved in the accident at fault, and myself by swerving. Swerving may not have been the best idea because I lost control of the car and ended up, upside down in a ditch with a completely missing window, a caved in roof that would have collapsed on my head if I was a tiny bit taller, a cracked all over windshield, a demolished side mirror barley attached to the car, a lot of dents, out of place tires, bits of glass inside the car, and broken inside mirrors.…

Living in West Virginia, one has ridden in a pick-up truck at least once. If it was in the front seat or the back, especially when you’re six foot three with your knees in your chest. Or when everyone hopped in the bed, you knew it was going to be a good time. Growing up my father had two trucks that I can remember, both of them I loved to ride in. The first one was the definition of a work truck, and it broke down everywhere. The other one was a very nice family truck that he loved, and so did I considering it was the first vehicle I ever drove. I currently drive a truck as my daily driver, and considering my history, I want to test if there is a better truck out there than mine. So I will be testing: suspension, carrying, handling, and gas…

My first car was a bit of a roller coaster, I had just learned to drive the year before and now it was time for me to have my own car. I would say the excitement I felt was overwhelming but even that might understate it just a little. The search began on a Sunday morning we went to several different dealerships, in search of the right mix of economy and style. Well, to be honest my mom was mostly interested in the economy part. The first dealership we went the car salesman seemed like the kind of over eager vacuum salesman you see on those old TV shows. The guy was just ridiculous, with his hair slicked back, and his slacks which were so tight he could start a fire. Every time he would show us a car I thought he was going to start a fire.…
