Personal Narrative: O Ffice Clippuply
O’fficé Clippuply is the name and modeling is the game. I am not your average paper clip, I am fabulous! I model for Clip Supply Co. and I’m on the cover of all their magazines. A few days ago I had the most traumatizing experience of my life. I was eaten by a human baby. My friends have told me the dangers of my job, but I have never believed them. Thank goodness I took that course on human studies back in high school. Now let me take you back to that awe inspiring day. About four days ago I was modeling to be on the front cover of OfficeMax, a well known office supply store. I was having a wonderful shoot with my friend Papier. We both heard some loud footsteps, that sounded like thunder. But trust me this was no thunder, it was ten times worse. IT WAS A HUMAN BABY! Papier, with his lightning fast reflexives had already ran away. Before I could react it had been too late.I had been picked up viciously by the large human and then I entered the first part of the human body.

This time we entered another slide, tube like thing from the top of it. This time we mixed yet again with other liquids. Once again the watery slimy liquid that I saw in the human wet cave is back. These liquids were from everywhere though, I have a feeling that's where they all go to come together. We are embarking on another journey, this time with everyone. We enter yet another set of tubes. But this time we went our separate ways. All the water that I had mentioned was removed from our cluster. I was also released from my cluster. I had never been so happy in my life. I met up back again with the water and we travel down the tubes. As we’re going down I see a little light, and I thought to myself, “Is this it, have I escaped?”. We went down faster and faster and I cannot believe my eyes, I SAW THE LIGHT. In a matter of seconds I was out. I recall saying, “Thank you paper god! I thought I was a

I knew I wouldn’t make it to the top of the murky, warm and brown waters. I could feel the oxygen being released quickly from my lungs and bubbles swiftly skimming my skin as I slowly reached the bottom of the lake. I heard the faint cries for help and loud splashing as my sight becomes blurred. I felt someone’s hands grab mine and pull me onto the grainy dusty dirt. My vision comes back and I feel everyone’s eyes on me. They all immediately start laughing at me as I stood up and brushed the dirt off of me, feeling something tightly clutch my body.…

All I could see were slow paced bodies walking pass me on the long everlasting hallway, unclear faces, and strange voices echoing in my head. My headed was bottled by all the blurriness and I was waiting to finally wake up. From the little knowledge I had left, I knew if I could find a bathroom I would be to splash water on my face to help snap me out of the large fog that I was trapped in.…

Friends who knew me in my childhood tell me I was a very strange little boy. Judging by my memory and the stories, I lived in a world of my own. I was a dreamer. I reminisce climbing trees in the forested area behind our home and just sitting there, ensconced on a limb thirty feet above the ground, rocked by a gentle breeze. I noticed early on that when I immersed myself into that world, surrounded by nature, and didn’t move a muscle, birds and other wildlife never noticed me and would go about their own business as if I was not there. I enjoyed the profound solitude of those moments, away from all the hustles and bustles of life, where it seemed there was a level of busyness that took me too far out of myself. Years later, I felt that the appreciation for sumptuous luxuries of solitude were too often neglected in the frenzy of…

Moving to a new place can be quite intimidating; however, it is a completely fresh start especially concerning my move to NMH from North Carolina. Similar to my move Nkem’s move to the United States from Nigeria in the chapter “Imitation” in Adichie’s The Thing Around Your Neck is a completely fresh start that she had great expectations for expressed by her excitement when joining the “Rich Nigerian Men Who Sent Their Wives to America”(26) League. I was also filled with excitement like Nkem knowing I was moving to an elite league of people who go to prep school. Nkem and I experience many similar aspects of moving to a new place especially the changes we both made to fit in while still staying true to our roots.…

As I was writing my personal narrative for my composition 1 class, it easily made my mind boggle. After I had got started on my personal narrative, it was easy for me to keep writing and keep following along the story line. The main strength of mine that the essay played to was my creativity and my flexibility for different writings, because I have never written an essay as serious and sad as this one, but I did have to add my happy ending when I finished the story. I wanted it to be very attention grabbing with a twist, but I also wanted it to be very emotional.…

I remember a few months after I settled into Shanghai, my mother took me to a ballet class. Back when I lived in Australia, I adored my dance classes, so when I found out I was overjoyed. As we headed to the studio, I had on a leotard that a parent from Australia had made for me. It was a gorgeous rose pink and its nylon fabric reflected against the light, with that a smooth, lightweight chiffon skirt wrapped around my waist, below, typical ballerina tights. I steadily walked into the class in my itty- bitty ballet shoes. As the class began, I was nervous but yet a part of me was also excited. The class was utterly amazing; the room was filled with plies, tondus and grand battements. We crossed the room with jetes, a move that made me feel…

Yet another Thanksgiving, and I was stuck in my uncle’s basement watching the Redskins face off the Dallas Cowboys. Michael Jordan, Serena Williams, and various other famous athletes all grinned at me from their respective Wheaties boxes, seemingly mocking my pain. My uncle collected them and, for some reason, had decided the bright orange boxes would be a great decorative addition to the basement wall behind the television. I remember once, when I was younger, I was searching for a movie to watch and I accidentally brushed against a limited edition Michael Jordan box. The box began to teeter, and I immediately knew that I was doomed. All the boxes began to fall like dominos to the floor. My uncle, needless to say, was furious. Thus, it was seemingly fitting that the offended boxes, now realigned on the wall, would have the privilege to witness my torture by football.…

Starting from a place I remembered as a teen, moving from a place that was warm to a place that had all four seasons; such as winter, spring, summer and fall. The First place that I grew up was surrounded by mountains. During the winter it was full of white snow, something that I was never used to seeing coming from California where all one would see was sandy beaches and the waves clasping one another. As I remember being so new to Park City, UT all I could see was the wonderful views of trees, mountains and people skiing or snowboarding. I have to say this was a fond memory because for the firs time I was actually able to experience the feeling of what winter was…

I was so furious but it was morning so I thought i was dreaming. Once I found out it was real and not a nightmare I ignored my dad which only lasted for about 30 minutes. Me being the 6 year old I was I couldn't ignore my parents or hold a grudge for long. My parents drove me to Nike Outlet and got me my basketball shoes and my black and pink elite socks. I have to admit the best part was picking out the shoes. Still to this day I remember them. They were black and pink nike hyper dunks. My dad let me keep the shoes if I went to the practice. I was only 6 so I thought it was unfair but I made the choice to keep them.…

Like most, my Fifth grade year was supposed to be awesome; it was the last year before I was finally able to go to Ben Franklin, the giant School whose football and baseball fields I had played on for years, just waiting for the time I could show I was good enough to play for their City Championship teams. But when I look back on that year that had so much promise, it didn’t go as I had thought, and ended up being one of the hardest of my life, both mentally and physically.…
