Personal Narrative: My Visit To The Daum Museum

Visiting the Daum Museum of Contemporary Art open my eyes to the many different types of art. From paintings to the sculptures and ceramics. There are many different styles and types of art. The beauty of different shapes, colors and materials is amazing. The visit of the Daum made me appreciate the many types of art. Christopher Russel exhibition was very three dimensional. It made you want to touch and feel the different textures. From the snakes in the flowers to the eagle with its wing spread wide. It is a different form of art that you don’t see every day. Usually people think of art as only paintings and not the sculptures that are art. The Recent American Ceramics we very colorful and appealing to me. It had art work style and the artist we had learned about in class. One work of art that was made with acrylic and gel medium was really appealing. The three dimensional look and feel was cool and was an eye catcher as you walked don’t the stairs to the permanent collection.
The SFCC student exhibit was my favorite. The painting in this exhibit just had me so amazed. I even told my wife if I had the money I would purchase multiple works of art from that exhibit. The colors and blending were really nice and attracted me to them. The paintings were calming to and the ceramics and sculptures were see detailed which got your attention.
My favorite two pieces would have to be Chris Kahler’s Viral A-9 and Lindsay Mills’s Beautiful Confusion. The way the gel and paint looked on the canvas in Chris Kalher’s work of art was really cool. It had my attention as so as I turned to walked down the stairs. It looked like a growing virus. Lindsay Mills’s use of colors and the way they we applied to the canvas was amazing. I told my wife I wanted to buy it and she said no you cannot. Her work of art was the most appealing to me in the whole
