Personal Narrative: My Vacation For Children
I returned back from vacation this week and it was nice to see all the children’s smiling faces. The parent’s express how they missed me as well as their children. This makes me love my job even more. This week there was a two year old child who had a seizure at the center; this was scary for the children, staff, as well I. 911 had to be called out to the center. We all have had CPR and first aid training so we were comfortable with handling the case until the ambulance reached us. However, we were not so prepared when the child stopped breathing. This was a learning experience, but I do not want to do it again. I want all my children safe and happy. I had to ride with the child to the hospital till her mother was reached and notified what

I remembered the moment when I was faced with a dire situation, when I was assistant coaching our local Jr. High Football team. The game was Lowell v.s Gilchrist. It was early in the 3rd quarter when we witnessed one of the players falling without getting hit. The coaches on the other team scrabbled to aid the young athlete, yet they didn’t understand was wrong. I came over to assistant, yet was pushed away, probably because I was only 16 and didn’t look like I could really help. Then I noticed the 6th grader twitching and realized that he was in anaphylactic shock. That’s when I suddenly asserted my place and started barking out orders. Within moments I was in charge and I took over on the care of the child. A woman that came over (I assumed…

It was 2009 and I had been in sixth grade for a couple of months. I was on the phone with one of my friends from school when my mom called through my door for me to come out into the living room. I ignored her and kept talking for a few minutes when she called me out again. I rolled my eyes and told my friend I would call her right back. I walked into the living room and it seemed odd to me that both my sisters and dad were all out there too. I watched my mom take a deep breath with my dad by her side. As she began to speak her voice shook and gloss covered her eyes. “The doctors found a lump in my last mammogram.” she said. “It came back as cancer. I’m going to have to get treatment but I’m going to be okay.” No one else said a word, we all…

This is the first time I was in American and also I lived alone. Due to that, lacking of caring from parents is obvious. Fortunately, I met and stayed in your family at Christmas Break. Thanks to your family’s niceness, I am not homesick anymore. Christmas and New Year are the best time to gather all member in your family together, so thank you for sharing that most wonderful time to me. Although New Year Day in United States was passed, Lunar New Year in Vietnam is coming. Moreover, Lunar New Year is the most perfect time to say “thank you”. The feel of 80 degree temperature, the sound of splashing water, and a super long car ride? Everything but the car ride was awesome! On my spring break this year we took a very long and boring car trip down to Arizona. It was a 18+ hour car trip just going there! I mostly slept and read the way there. First, we visited Arizona state and Arizona University. Then, we stayed at my Grandma and Grandpa’s house. But, what I mostly liked about my spring break was in Arizona there was 80-90 degree temperatures!…

As I am not a super religious person anymore it is hard for me to find any religious “portals” that I can think of. Perhaps it could be as simple as when I walk into my garden. When I go there it is very peaceful to me. Being in my garden makes me feel at peace and almost one with nature, as I am tending to my garden.…

The issue you tried to cover is really unique and good. When I was a child my siblings used to help me study mats, physics and chemistry. They always used to show me step by step and then, they let me practice with several similar questions. That helps me for my present knowledge. I remember there were other children’s whose parents will do their home works for them. For sure they used to get a better grade but I am not sure if it helped them. There for from my own experience it is better to guide them and let them to try and fail; since it won’t hurt them to fail instead it will teach…

Now, that we know little bit more about the history of my parents we can go ahead and discuss their vacations since they were young until nowadays. Since, they could not travel alone and hardly with friends, they usually spent their vacation with their parents. Moreover, Belo Horizonte is a city in the middle of the country, more specific in the Southeast of Brazil, so the tradition was to travel to beaches that they could travel by car. Therefore, every summer that in Brazil is in January, family get their children and go to city, for example, Rio de Janeiro and cities in the state of Espirito Santo, that is a state above Rio de Janeiro. They usually went by car and spent around 15 days on the beach. During the day they spent the whole day on the beach; at night they went to the season park, circus and fair. Almost every day they went to restaurant and eat typical food of the place and after the dinner all the…

I am sure you find many letters coming across your desk from parents who have taken the opportunity to ‘brag’ about their child. I know mine won’t be the best, but I hope that I do my daughter justice at the end. As most parents do, especially with their first child, they keep a folder of milestones their child has reached throughout their years; a folder filled with report cards, love letters, photos, school projects, etc. When I look back at one of Morgan’s Kindergarten project “All about Me”, I couldn’t agree more with the saying on the front of her book exclaiming, ”There is nobody in the world exactly like me!”. It’s exactly how I feel about Morgan.…

At the young, inexperienced age of nine, I was chosen by my school, along with 30 other students, to go on a six-day journey of California; this trip was called the Fourth Grade Heritage Trip. The purpose of the trip was to learn about California’s history and to explore new places. I was from a small city where my life followed a predictable plan, so this was very exciting since I was not accustomed to new places or the unexpected. When the day of departure arrived, I waved goodbye to my parents knowing I was about to experience something I would never forget. That was the beginning of a wonderful adventure; every day held something new. We visited many different missions and learned when they were built and how the people lived there. We took a ferry over to Alcatraz Island and faced the all-encompassing darkness of a solitary confinement cell. Other places we visited were the state’s capital buildings, the Sacramento Mint, and the Hershey’s Chocolate Factory. Each new location brought more insight and wonder.…

When I got to St. Vincent’s hospital I thought I was in labor but the doctor said my water wasn’t broken yet. So I had to walk up and down the hallway for the baby to come down. Then finally the doctor pulled my water. And oh my god I was in so much pain. The nurse said” Keep pushing, the baby is almost out.” With a final push I had my baby. She was the most beautiful little baby with dark hair and big light brown eyes. I called Diana.…

At the start of the assignment, I thought of many places to undergo a cultural plunge experiences. Especially since California is a diverse state, not only that, but UCI as well. As time passed, I discovered there were limitations to places I could visit. One reason was that I didn’t have a car, so this limited most places. Fortunately, I was able to choose two cultural experiences that I have not experienced and come to understand the cultures behind it. Without having a secure public transportation, I decided to visit places within Irvine. The first cultural experience was in Diamond Jamboree and it was going to H Mart for the first time. The second place was in Fashion Island and I went to eat at an authentic French Café called Café Beau…

When I was twelve, my family and I went on vacation to Orlando, Florida. The main place we went to was Discovery Cove and we were going to swim with ocean creatures! I was so stoked to go swim with marine animals and couldn’t wait to feel the soft skin of a bottlenose dolphin on the palm of my hand. My mom was obsessed with dolphins two years ago. I’m not kidding. She had little dolphin statues in our living room for decorations and has a dolphin tattoo on her ankle. I was almost as excited as my mom but she was waiting to do this her whole life. I only wanted to do this for about a month before the trip. I think she wanted to swim with dolphins quite a bit more than me.…
