Have you ever been excited so much that you cried? Well I have my dad said “We were going to the board walk”. Then I said “Are we really going to the board walk”. Then my dad said “Yes since it's a really hot day instead of sitting at the house when it's so hot here”. I said “Yay it’s my first time going to the boardwalk.” First my dad and stepmom decided to go to the boardwalk so we did but my brother didn't want to go because he was tired but my dad told him he has to go. When we got there we got bracelets to get on them rides but they said let's play games in the arcade so we did and we also played miniature golf it was fun but I didn't win my dad did by ten points. After that we decided to eat so we ate some pizza it was good the pizza was spicy and juicy. It was just a boring day in my hometown, a traditional, weak entrance a lot of narrative stories use to try to get the attention of the readers. This story, however, isn’t one of those traditional stories; this one involves a day that had been exciting up to that point already. The memory that resonates daily throughout my mind would have to be the time when I went to Six Flags for the first time in my life. Before I jump into my story, I should tell you my friends mess with each other a lot, almost to the point where we get into fights with each other.…

Going to Southern California, no one would think of packing an umbrella. Why would they? California is in the middle of a drought. When someone thinks of California, they think of baby blue skies and palm trees along the streets. But, of course, the weekend my family decided to visit Disneyland, Universal Studios, and SeaWorld is the weekend Southern California experienced what the local news called a “tropical depression.”…

I parked my car on Devon Avenue in front of Shore Galleries and took a quick glance through the car window. Shore Galleries sign was attached to the building above the main entrance and windows were completely tinted. Shore Galleries was located next to a dry cleaning business. Unless you knew the nature of business of Shore Galleries, not many people would realize that Shore Galleries is a firearms store with an indoor gun range. I sat in my car for a few minutes to clear my head and thought about things that I should pay a closer attention to once I get inside.…

Screams pierced through the salty, humid, California air. Intimidating rides towered above me, even the thought of riding them terrifying me. Thundering waves crashed as a backdrop for the “Belmont Park” sign that about touched the clouds. Excitement and anticipation coursed through my veins. My palms turned clammy and we made our way through the never ending line to get our tickets. Wafting through the light breeze was the sweet aroma of funnel cakes, cotton candy, and hotdogs. Looking around me I knew one thing, I was determined to go on the three most daunting rides, the Giant Dipper, a hair-raising roller coaster, the Beach Blaster, sickening my stomach at the thought of it and lastly the dark looming room of extreme laser tag.…

The little exhausted 6 year old girl, running through crowds of people and in circles looking for her mom or just familiar faces. From riding the Mine Digger roller coaster, slipping away from my cousin for a quick snack, eventuality became separate from the group, then found by Daffy Duck and rescue by my cousin. I remember the day vividly: the sizzling of food frying, children yelling, my tears running, it was the first time I adventured to Six Flags. The uneasiness of my stomach while swaying tens of feet from the ground on the Texas Giant petrified the adventurous spirit out of me. However, I did not realize that moment `would shape the next eight years of life, emerging in my memory at every unfamiliar experience I faced. It was my senior year when I declined an invitation to go camping with my friends an epiphany struck me. How many of these opportunities was I going to skip out on due to my reluctant manner?…

There’s a lot of great things I saw on my trip to Galveston, Texas. My favorite place there was the Galveston Island Historic Pleasure Pier, while I was there I got on the roller coaster… that was very interesting. There was kids scared to even get on it because a lot of different people were saying things about it. It was “scary” or maybe “you’ll fall off of it”, I was frightened. From far far away you can see the ships when you were around the beach. They looked sketchy, but, whenever I looked at it from far away I thought it was something else. I was on the beach and I was so scared because one of my good friends shot me a text and said:“You realize you’re at a place where there is sharks and a kid died there because of it a few weeks ago”.…

When one thinks of summer, it immediately comes to mind the sight of sandy beaches, amusement parks and hot sunny days. Coney Island, an extravagant vacation playground to visit especially for the summer. I have recently had an opportunity to come to such a wonderful place that the sights are still engraved in my mind. There were other attractions that I have missed out on mainly since I had only one day there. If time was not an issue, I would have definitely visited more programs that they provide. Getting there is also not a problem due to their cheap and handy subway system. One thing to be cautioned about is that it can get extremely busy on the weekends, so the best time to be there would be on the weekdays, especially if you do not want…

One morning a long time ago, my mom woke me up early. “It’s time to go,” she said. Go, go where I asked? “Today, we are moving to Florida,” she said. My big brown eyes began to fill up with hot salty tears. I don’t want to go, I said over and over again. You and your sibling are going to be moving to Florida with me. Again, I cried aloud, I don’t want to go. Who will take care of me? Where will I sleep? And what will I eat and drink? Consequently, all of my pleas for mercy to reside longer with my daddy was ignored, and apparently fell on deaf ears.…

We had to say our last goodbye to our little house we had lived in our whole lives. When we were leaving, my family and relatives were at the house saying their goodbyes and giving hugs. “Do we really have to leave everyone and move, mom?” I asked. “Your dad and I have agreed that it will be a good move for the family, now stop complaining about it.” she told me. The only thing I wanted to do that day was stay in our old house and cry because I didn’t want to leave my family at all, I was really dreading moving to Florida. When we headed off on the roads I was still upset about the move, but my parents kept telling me it will be okay but that didn’t help me feel any…
