Good Essays
My family and I went on a trip to Pennsylvania, Florida for my little cousin birthday. My heart was rushing and my face was lit up from the excitement that filled the room. I asked my mom can I bring two of my friends Patrick and Camarius, she said yes and all thirty two pearls lined up across my face. It was my first time traveling with my family and my last time. I never want to witness anything like the trip to Florida with my family ever again. As we drove up, I sat in the hard back seat with my legs twisted to the side while they polluted the air with the nasty smell of nicotine. We drove up in two trucks which we separated thirteen people into. Trying to ignore and avoid conversation with the ones around me, I put in my ear plugs and slid my sunglasses on my …show more content…
I asked “what are ya’ll running and changing your t-shirts for” they said in a nervous manner “police and security guards are looking for your cousins that ordered food inside the restaurant ”. I started walking towards the parking lot, it was dark and had no street lights. My friends followed me as we tried to stay as far away as we could from my family and ease our way back to the car. I look down the street and seen bright red and blue lights flashing with all of my family standing there and lots of people standing around them. They ordered $108 worth of food and my mom and aunt had to pay for it just so they could come back home. They got in trouble for stealing food, I was in the back seat ducking and dodging the eyes of the nosy people as we drove by to leave the beach. We left the hotel room the next morning and had to eat greasy and room temperature Church’s Chicken. I was just thankful that they let us eat after last night. After that trip to Florida I swore to never go on another family trip

When it comes to spending time outdoors, my family prevails over all others. My dad sees every opportunity for a camping, hiking, canoeing, anything-outdoors trip and seizes it. Ever since I was old enough to walk, we have been traveling to visit national parks and hiking trails. I always enjoy camping with my family, but sometimes these trips don’t go as intended. This time, we decided to travel to Sipsey, Alabama. Briefer than our usual trips, we were only going to park, hike to a campsite…

Over the summer before my senior year in high school, I was given an amazing opportunity to go to Nicaragua. This year again, I was preparing my trip to Chile. The holiday vacations were starting in a week, and like every other year I was leaving for Christmas. My desire for helping others in need, started when I was only 15 years old. That’s when I went on my first humanitarian trip, with my school. We left for Chile and built ten houses in two weeks. Since then, I have never skipped a year without going on this trip and building houses. The first couple of years I would leave in the summer vacations,…

I finished 911th out of 1418 kids in the u20 division. The drive was the best part of the whole trip though. It was really interesting to see how different places are and how different the country is in different states. Driving through Iowa was really strange. There was no hills at all. Before this trip, I had never climbed a mountain and this was more than just climbing a mountain. So I wasn’t really prepared mentally or physically to go on a trip that required carrying a 40 to 50 pound pack over steep, rocky trails at elevations ranging from 6,500 to 12,500 feet. Since I had a history of asthma when I was in middle school, I was a little nervous as I wasn’t sure if I will be able to complete this trip without being pulled out from the crew half way through the trip due to my asthma…
