Personal Narrative: My Trip To Matagalpa, Nicaragua
One of the most valuable learning experiences anyone can have is to travel. This summer, I had the opportunity to travel to Matagalpa, Nicaragua with Global Glimpse, a travel abroad and leadership program. Global Glimpse aims to provide opportunities for high school students to experience the developing world firsthand. During my three week stay, I participated in many activities, including working on family farms, getting involved in community projects, working in schools, and more. However, the most memorable experience for me was tutoring the locals in English.
Tutoring other peers is an experience many high school students are familiar with. In my case, the Nicaraguan students saw me as a teacher and not as a peer. Every day, I got up
