Personal Narrative: My Trampoline
“Can we please go to Sam’s house?” my sister and I asked in unison.
“ Fine, but you can only be there until 8pm, no more than that ”. My Mom instructed
“ YAY!” we screamed on the top of our lungs.
We ran upstairs at top speed to get changed to go to our next door neighbor, Sam’s, house. The reason why we wanted to go so bad to her house because, she had a trampoline, a basketball hoop that had two times the span of ours, and she had a deeper, bigger pool. Obviously we were jealous since we moved in and we wanted to go to her backyard ever since. It was exactly 7:00 pm on the 10th of November, 2016, a saturday. When we entered her backyard and I headed straight for the trampoline before even saying hello.
“Aren’t you even going to say hi”?

We started with a game she made up, which was called “avoid the balls” which she came up within a second. The game rules are obviously avoid all of the basket, volley, and soccer balls and if the balls touch you three times, you're out! We managed to play this game for 30 minutes, but we were having so much fun that we forgot to keep track of the score. After that, we were extremely exhausted and we took a water break for 5 minutes. Then we switched to playing basketball. My sister is really good at basketball, so we basically had no chance of beating her so me and we decided to make it me and her against my sister.
“But that’s NOO fair” she complained
“ Think about it, you are really good at basketball, so if me and Sam join forces, it will be equal”. I protested
UGH, fine , but NO CHEATING” she implied.
Even though she said no cheating, Sam cheated without a doubt sometimes cheated, but my sister and I didn’t care because it was just a game. After about 20 minutes, we stopped playing a Emily still ended up winning.
“ I won, your garbage” she repeatedly taunted
“ please , just please STOP IT IS annoying” I pleaded
After we finished playing basketball, we sat on Sam porch, talked, listened to music, and ate ice cream. Next door we heard a yell“ Emily , Brian it is time to leave”. So we opened the gate ,walked over the unbalanced sidewalk to our door and ran the doorbell. Our

I grip my lacrosse stick with my hands shaking and sweat rolling down my face. My eyes are locked on my girl’s belly button, nothing else. She stood six feet tall with frizzy blonde hair, and was pure muscle. Everytime she made a jolt I would jump and be with her the whole time, not a step behind. All I knew about my girl was based off my observations and the fact that she is Agnes Irwin’s best player and a senior committed to a very high level division one program, UVA. I, An eighth grader not even thinking about college, knew I wasn’t close to her level. Colleen, my coach, came up to me the day before the game to notify me I would be faceguarding Agnes Iwin’s best girl. Face guarding is extremely difficult and nerve wracking. If you lose your girl for a second she’s going to get the ball and score, and you really have no one to blame but yourself. I’m not the best player on my team and I’m not the best…

I always keep this poem and picture in my wallet. I take it everywhere with me because it means quite a lot to me in two very different ways. One of those ways is because it holds sentimental value. When I was younger I learned to read very late in life and I was always so embarrassed of that. My father knew that I was struggling and bought me the book, Where the Sidewalk Ends. It is a book full of poems and little pictures written by Shel Silverstein. I remember opening the book to ta random page, and it was the page with this poem. I then remember my dad asking me to read it to him. I was so uncomfortable, even thought I was just going to be reading to my dad. He gave me some words of encouragement, and even thought I was not able to read…

This morning I woke up and noticed something was different. I got out of bed and went to the bathroom to brush my teeth, as usual, but when I tried to grab the toothpaste, my hand was a paw. I jumped up to look into the mirror. I was a dog! I sort of freaked out, for a little bit. I remembered that I had told my parents I was going to a friend’s house to get ready for school in the morning so they didn’t think I was home. This gave me time to develop a plan.…

It was almost the summer time, grass couldn’t have been greener, school was almost out, and I was so excited to return home so I could play outside. The day seemed like any other; I was picked up from school, given a snack, watched over as I did my homework, and then I was given permission to go outside. I had rushed up the stairs to change out of my uniform and get into something more comfortable. On that day, unlike any other day, my older sister, Briana, was already home, but my…

As I stroll into practice, carrying my basketball bag which is overfilled with all of my things. My basketball shoes that smell like sour milk, my practice jersey that also has a terrible smell, along with my deodorant that smells like amazing smelling boys, and my perfume that smells like cherry blossoms. I walk in a rush to the locker room, because before every practice we would have to make fifty free throws. The previous day at practice the head coach, Coach Schroeder, got outrageously mad at our entire team. You could say that, that day wasn’t one of our greatest practices. Our team's goal for the next practice was to go all out and try to make our coach a happy camper again. Before we actually start practice, we always do jump ropes as a warm up. Fifty regular jumps, fifty left leg, fifty right leg, one-hundred front to back, one-hundred left to right, fifty front to back (right and left leg, not at the same time), fifty left to right ( right and left leg, not at the same time), then last but not least, ten quick double jumps. Each and every one of my teammates went as hard as possible, we did not want to slack off and make…

The three of us started walking up the steep hill. By the time we arrived at the rusty gate, our feet were sore and our ears were pink. Now that we were finally here, it seemed a lot bigger as the house loomed over us. It looked like it hadn’t been touched in decades. I could tell they Sam and Cody were having second thoughts now. I pushed them through the creaky door. Since we only had two flashlights I didn’t get one. We wondered around the abandoned house. Strangely there was no sound of the wind outside. I could only hear the creaking of the floorboards from the three of us. The smell of damp wood was overwhelming. Then I thought I heard a fourth step. I froze and motioned to the…
