Personal Narrative: My Road Trip To Florida Keys
I remember that morning perfectly, Macy and I left to begin our road trip to the Florida Keys more specifically, Key West.We woke up at 5:00 am,and her grandparents were coming to pick us up at 5:30 to begin our trip.We went to bed late the previous night because we were just so excited to be going together. Talking about the pictures we were gonna take, the places we would go, the beach, shopping, and more. We were just so happy to be going.Since we were so tired, we barely made it out of bed. Rushing to brush our teeth, brush our hair, and get our bags all waiting by the door. Her grandparents were running behind a little, arriving at her house at 6:20 am.

It was finally starting to get dark, so we decided to go back to the house. On our fourth day, we were going to go to Virginia Beach. It’s about two hours from my aunt’s house so we left kind of early to get there around eleven o’clock. While we were there my grandparents went to one of those side shops, the ones that sell clothes and other items. Anyway, they went and bought a ton of different souvenirs. Everyone looked at my grandparents and laughed. They looked…

Whilst looking through my collection of photographs I discover a bundle labelled “Orlando, Florida 2005”. Just then a lot of very happy memories came flooding back, these pictures seem like they where only taken yesterday. Yet they where taken 12 years ago, my last family holiday. I can remember every detail about this particular holiday, obviously it had such a huge impact on me. I recall visiting Disneyland and meeting all the Disney princesses I was so gobsmacked. It was all a 5 year old little girl could dream of! I would clutch my big sisters hand and jump up and down with excitement. One of my fondest memories was doing the princess tour, my sister was 12 and she just did anything to make her little sister happy so obviously she joined…

The summer of 2016, I organized a venturesome trip for my dad and I to share in the Florida Keys during the weekend of our birthdays. Our trip was scheduled for the end of July, which happened to be the hottest and the most chaotic time to go because of lobster season. As a Floridian, I have traveled to many destinations throughout Florida; but never before have I gone as far south as the keys. Recalling the first time I visited the Florida Keys is one of my fondest memories.…

The mechanical chairs were going up, 100ft in the air we were ready for our stomachs to drop to our feet, adrenaline pumping. Then all of the sudden we were in a situation; death or survival? On one normal day of school my friends and I (Bri, Keishon, Chaniece, and Datasia) were sitting at the lunch table eating our food. Then Bri brought up the idea that we should all take a road trip to Six Flags. Keishon agreed, “sounds like a good idea to me.” Everybody else then agreed with Bri that it was a good idea. After school we all decided to meet at Bri’s house after we had packed our stuff. We decided that we were going to get a hotel there and go out to eat after leaving Six Flags. From the other room Datasia yelled, “Are you guys ready?” We…

It was a broiling hot day in Florida. There were the bluest skies you had ever seen, a weak breeze just strong enough to weakly whisper through your hair. It was about mid July, the hottest month of the year. In the distance you could hear the enjoyment. Blissful laughing, screaming, gleeful conversations of families and friends. “The happiest place on Earth” is right in front of you. Meanwhile, you’re standing in line with about 300 other anxious people. No one knows why the lines for tickets take about a thousand years to get through. All you know is sooner than later, it will be you screaming in fear and eating the overly sweet cotton candy.…

On a cloudy Friday, at around 15:45 in the afternoon, me and Alexandra Theodorou headed to our field trip in Punta Culebra, located at the Causeway in Panama City. Very excited to find out what was expecting us in Punta Culebra, the first impression I got from that place was the nicest one. A very gentle guy attended us and told us that any doubts we had he could answer them and to not think twice before asking him for a favor. As I had never been there before, the first thing I asked him was that if he could please tell me where we could find the turtles, the small room with glass aquariums and the amphibian’s exhibition. He indicated us where were does three places located and then we headed that way. Punta Culebra was pretty empty on that…

This memory all started when it was a warm summer night and my dad came home saying he had a surprise and it was tickets to Hawaii. My whole family was extremely happy. It was the summer of 2010 when we left at 3:30 am to leave for Los Angeles International airport. It was summer so it wasn’t so cold. So my family and I got in the car and went. We arrived super early at the airport because we had to boarding time was at 6:30 and my dad always wants us to be there early just in case we have an emergency. So as soon as we got on the plane we ate a small breakfast that was actually good for airplane food. As soon as I got on the plane I fell asleep I was super tired and then my dad moved me so I awoke telling me that we be arriving in Hawaii in 15 min. I was super curious to see what it was like because I have always hard it was amazing sites and great weather. We landed and got out of the plane and headed to our cab driver that took us to the nicest hotel I have ever seen in my entire life. Waterfalls everywhere with people greeting you to the hotel giving you flowers and chocolates of all kind. This was just the beginning we walked into the huge hotel, checked in and had many people carrying our bags. We walked into our big hotel room set our bags down and then the people carrying our bags shut the doors. My family started asking my dad what we were going to do next while my family was having this conversation I walked over to the window open the curtains and there is a huge pool with massive water slides and huge wave pool. I knew my brother and sister would love to go to that same with my parents. So next thing I know I’m going down a big slide with my brother and were both…

It was the summer before my freshman year of high school; my dad had plans to spend a week in the Bahamas for work. He decided that it would be a good opportunity to bring my older sister and me along with him and my mom. My dad has always felt it was important for me and my sister to experience different cultures and he would also plan for us to see lots of attractions after his work day was completed. The Bahamas was beautiful and more than I could ever imagine. The scenery, the art, and the food and people were all amazed and bemused me at the same time. Even after days of adventures the most memorable thing for me happened on our last day.…
