Personal Narrative: My Personal Leadership Philosophy
Today we will discuss my personal leadership philosophy and taking a look at a few of my most recent duty positions. We will discuss my talk about my conflict resolution, professional development activities, and my goals. We will start looking at my duty positions at Fort Campbell and then move on to my current duty positions in recruiting and then discuss what my goals for my future are. Fort Campbell is where I started my carrier in the INTEL world. I worked in a battalion (BN) S2 section. When I first arrived to the BN S2 I had no job and no soldiers due to having an overabundance of noncommissioned officers (NCO) and only having a couple of soldiers. So having too many NCOs and not enough soldiers left me jobless for roughly six months until some of the NCOs moved to another duty station and we started receiving more soldiers. What I’m getting at is that the first part of my time at Fort Campbell …show more content…
We would do regular checks on the arms room to ensure that the armorer was preforming all the proper procedures. When we would find an armorer not finding the proper procedures we would sit down with him/her and retrain to ensure all procedures where being performed properly. During my short time of being the physical security manager for the Battalion I came down on orders for Recruiting. While being assigned to Recruiting command there isn’t much room for leadership position. But I was able to become the future soldier (FS) leader. As the future solder leader I was in charge to ensure that every FS was ready to ship to Basic Training. In conclusion my time as of NCO has allowed me little leadership positions. But when I am in a leadership position if a conflict arises I like to put it on paper so the solider and I can go over it to ensure the problem has been resolved. My goal is to continue to further my education and get as much leadership knowledge as

The values that I hold most deeply are friendships, family, and happiness. Values are things that are important in the way I live and work and I believe all of these things play a major role in my life. Since I was a little kid, my values have changed tremendously. Back then, my values would've been playtime, mac & cheese, and chicken nuggets. I believe values mature as you grow and mine definatly did. For example, when I was younger I remember being friends with everyone, but now I only have a select number of friends. This represents values to me. My values inform my actions by them always being my first thought while making a decision. They always play a role in my…

This statement is important to me because I have always found that I am at my best when I am helping people, whether its helping people at my job or at the grocery store. There are many things that fall into place with that, which to me, mainly includes education, because I am a student and I work in a college where I work with students and I listen to their problems and relate to them. So education is very important in general, but to me Community and Industry Education is very important and important to a lot of people. Like all military officers, I was trained and groomed to be a leader from the time I raised my right hand and took the oath of office. The most important contribution to my success was the emphasis I placed on putting junior member’s needs before mine. I have a code that I live by and it has been very effective as a leader, “Take care of your people, and they will take care of…

At the end of my junior year, I earned the rank Lieutenant Commander. With this rank I am in charge of the whole unit and have to know how to lead people in the best way. By going to leadership academy and a leadership conference, I realized there are different ways to lead different people. Realizing this is crucial because I cannot approach someone in a situation the same way I did with another person, I learned how to talk to certain people based on their personality.…

Leadership is a very powerful trait that many wish to possess, but only few have the ability to appropriately carry out the task. It is a trait that is not only God-given, but also learned throughout life as we are given many leaders to observe as we journey throughout childhood and into adulthood. With my service in the military approaching 28 years, I have been blessed with the opportunity to serve under some very talented leaders within my varied career in the Air National Guard. I’ve also been given many opportunities to travel to a variety of places and countries that most people that I grew up with in Mississippi only dream of visiting. Since joining the Air National Guard in 1989, it has been a rewarding career both as an enlisted…

When I moved from the eastside to the westside of Dearborn in 2006, I felt distraught. I barely knew anyone that went to Bryant Middle School. I wanted to return home and talk to my friends that went to Woodworth Middle School, in East Dearborn. To comfort me with a pet, my brothers took me along with them to the Dearborn Animal Shelter. We combed through several cages containing cats; we saw an adorable three-legged cat, a beautiful calico cat, and some cute white kittens. We then came upon a cage containing a small white and black cat named Ring Leader. Ring Leader was 5 months old at the time. He was lightly shedding, climbing over the shelter worker, and feverishly looking around. Ring Leader seemed like an energetic and fun cat, so I chose…

In chapter 12, the key event to me was when Claudia and Finn talked to each other through the keys. I felt many emotions when reading their interaction one of them being happy. I felt happy when they talked to each other because it was a turning point in the story in my opinion. I also felt surprised because at first, I thought by having two keys, there would be a lock that would need both keys to hear and speak to each other. I also felt confused by the way they conversed; How could they now hear each other but not before. I think by having one key being touched, the other key can hear because on page 153 Claudia says she breathed and rubbed on the key making it warm and on page 154 Finn says when he touches the key it's warm.I like the way the author wrote the scene from both perspectives, it gave us the readers a clearer understanding of how both Finn and Claudia felt. I also like how the author described the way both keys affect each other and have a "key" connection.…

Being a leader is more than simply holding a leadership position or having the ability to lead. Everyone is capable of being a leader, but not everyone exercises his or her leadership abilities. Each person’s idea of leadership is different. My idea of leadership has developed over time, and being a member of the President’s Leadership Class has helped me develop my philosophy of leadership further than what it was two months ago. My personal philosophy of leadership is the ability to effect change through leading by example, taking initiative, and encouraging others.…
