I put in all that
I put in all that
Over the weekend I had a huge Soccer Tournament in Grey. We had two games on Saturday and one game Sunday. In the first game we played a Cumberland club team and beat them 2-0. In our second game we played Westbrook and won 5-0. So at the end of the day we were 2-0 and in first for our bracket, but winslow was also 2-0. Going into Sunday we had to beat South Portland by two goals and not let them score. We ended up tying them 3-3 and we got eliminated because Winslow beat Westbrook 4-0.…
My first year of storm soccer began in the 6th grade. I was nervous to start my first competitive soccer season. The thing that helped me out the most was that I knew we had a new coach in the program so we all were starting new. The first day of practice he talked to us and we all got to become closer by talking about ourselves and why we are playing the game of soccer.…
When I was in grade school I would come home from football practice and have my dad time me running sprints in the alley behind our house. I knew that more repetitions and better technique would make me faster. Playing soccer since the age of 5 has been my passion. However, along with playing came injuries. I suffered a concussion playing U12 soccer, and still…
ADD A BEGINNING Soccer was everything to me. I would go to my Mom and Dad and say “Lets go play soccer!” Add more right here. My dream was to go to OU and be on the women's soccer team. Little did I know that was all going to change.…
It was a frigid, windy, Friday night in October. The only light was the bright and beaming illumination of the stadium lights projecting over the soccer field. The bleachers were full, it seemed as if the whole school was there, and as a freshman with anxiety, it made it hard to cope with the fact, that I was going to be a starter for the varsity soccer team.…
Starting from the first practices with my local baseball team, I was worse than all the other kids. A dislike towards the sport added to the uphill battle of getting better. My desire to go back and play soccer kept on growing. Even with the failure I was experiencing playing baseball, I fought through the year like a soldier, attending every game and practice, with a goal to make dad happy.…
Boom! The hit of the pads on that field whether its Friday night, Saturday morning, or Sunday afternoon its always the right time to throw on the pads and play and/or watch the amazing sport of football.…
I believe that soccer should be a part of everyone’s life. I have played soccer since I was 5 and it has left a great impact on my life. This year is my senior year in high school and it will be my last year playing on a serious soccer team. I have played select soccer for 8 years now and they have been amazing years. Over the years soccer has taught me many life lessons and I believe the years have changed my life for the better.…
I prepare for soccer games like it's the last game I will every play. Later I just end up frustrated with the referee. In the game of soccer, I found that referees can be unfair. Referees can either cost a team the game or favor the other team with uneven enforcement calls, assisting them to a win. Not all referees are unfair, but from my experience a lot are. This past soccer season, I had an away game. In this game, our team only had a center referee, with no assistant referees. I lace up my shoes wanting to score the winning goal of the game. By when the first whistle blew I knew that the referee didn't know what he was doing. I was less than impressed with the referee's understanding of the rules. Whenever the ball would go out-of-bounds…
he bell rang and we race to our cars. My team and I very happy knowing we had a chance of being champions. The whole school behind us cheering us on. From City University To Hamilton Middle School Chris, Aaron, Terrell, and myself smiling from cheek to cheek. We got to Hamilton and we gear up. I threw my catcher bag over my shoulder and called for the team to line up. Coach Avent ad Coach Blake started prayer. After they looked up and said “ We been preparing for this day all year.” Knowing everything the team had been through the last season before, no one would have ever thought the Hamilton Wildcats would be in the City Champion Game. No one would've ever through the Hamilton Wildcats would’ve had the season we had. Only losing one game…
From the time I was five years old to the time I turned sixteen, I've played soccer. My brother, being seven years older than me, always challenged me to lead my team even when I was young. As a result, I was in control of the team's defense when on the field. Come when I turned thirteen, I was made the captain of my competitive soccer team; My duty as captain entailed delegating on-field roles to my teammates and making sure they were playing the right positions. Also, It was my duty to read the on-field situation and change our game plan to best fit our style as we played. This created a sense of flexibility that has become engrained in my brain ever since. The role of captain may not sound very applicable to an on-campus leader, yet, I'd…
The setting was the year 2016. What I realized is to be careful about what you say to people because that could be the last time you ever talk to them again because you never know when they are going to be gone. I wish I can talk to my mom one time more than anything in the world. Miss you mom. This all started when she had gotten when she had a steroid shot in her back because it was bad then a few days later she began to have spots pop onto her back then we took her to the hospital because she was in so much pain. Then when we took her there they said to my dad she is going to have surgery on her back. After all of that had happened to figure it out she has had a really bad infection on her back then she was good for a couple of months. Then she started puking is was clear figurs…
think of a time when you worked extra hard for something and you accomplished it. What did you feel? a sense of joy and accomplishment? well that’s what I felt in these next few stories Imma gonna tell ya.…
My soccer career started as soon as I could walk, but somehow I still wasn’t very good at it at the age of 13. You'd assume ten years of practice and a sister who'd been the mvp of her high school team would have rubbed off on me, but that wasn’t the case. That is to say, I wasn't absolutely pitiful. I was pretty quick, and I could get a good foot on the ball about four times out of ten.…
Starting soccer when I was only five years old was challenging because of my October birthday I had to play with all the six year olds. My parents had put me in soccer because I was a young boy filled with too much energy. After playing soccer for about a year I decided I wanted to do more, I loved the sport. I started playing club soccer when I was 7 years old, playing for under the wing of Charley Amblo. This was a training team only, it was not till I was nine that I was started playing for a travel team. This was the beginning of where I learned my leadership, time management, and teamwork dynamics.…
