Personal Narrative: My Life In The US
My life changed in September 14, 2000, when I arrived to this country with my son and my husband. I remember that day like it was yesterday. We woke up early in the morning, and went to the airport. I was sad because I knew that in a long time I would no see my family.

I was excited the first day that I arrived to the United State of America. Everything looked clean and new, the people were nice and friendly. The change for me was a new experience and took a lot of time to get accustomed to. The language, the new system’s life, and other things that I needed to know to start my life in the USA.

    Samuel, I really enjoyed your post as I like hearing about other people’s family history since mine is so diverse. With your skin tone, eyes, and hair I can see why someone may say you look Hispanic. At least you take it in stride. Today, too many people get offended when someone calls them the wrong race or ethnic origin. It is really good that you continue your family’s tradition of cooking Greek and Italian dishes and I hope your children continue that. My family has been in this country so long and has so many nationalities in the mix that we have Southern traditions instead of a specific country. I do enjoy researching my family’s history.
