Personal Narrative: My Life In High School
I became a sophomore just one year ago and I have enjoyed every bit of the High School. I’ve met new friends and I have seen some old good friends. I have appreciated what I have right now in school, grade and teacher wise. All of the teachers have been extremely helpful throughout the time I have been in High school. For the first few months of High school I had some bummed out times. I was bummed out because I was disappointed that I didn’t have any classes with any of my friends. I figured if I had at least one or two classes with my friends it would be another awesome year like ninth grade was when I had almost all of my classes with at least one of my friends.

Like before I talked about how I was bummed for the first few months of school because I didn’t have any classes with my friends. I realized that I was perfectly fine the way it was in tenth grade because I was still able hang out with my friends during the sophomore lunch period because we were capable of having off-campus lunches unlike the sophomores this year who were incapable of having off-campus lunches ever again, it seemed like. I was also happy with what I had because not having the luxury gave me the opportunity to meet new students in my new classes. I have made it through the whole year to accept that what I had and have now has been easy and do-able.

Students will soon, if they haven’t already, realize that High School will be the easiest and fastest moving grade levels that students will most-likely have during the rest of their learning experience; God know it was for me, but I’m only a junior right

The reason my academics aren’t going well as you or I would like is because of the several family issues I’ve had to face during my high school career. It began my Sophomore year, I found out my mom needed surgery in her arm so the chances of her cancer spreading would be reduced. I was under a great deal of stress worrying about my mother, taking care of my four siblings making sure they knew everything was going to be okay, even though I wasn’t sure myself. It was all up to me; while my other brother worked to help with bills, my mom being in the hospital, and my dad working. Taking care of my siblings consisted of cooking, homework, cleaning, nightly routine, and putting them to bed. When the work was done it would be around 10 o'clock. It was already tough to buckle down and focus on homework without all the stress. With all this my first semester grade was less than great.…

I learned a lesson all the way back in first grade, and that lesson has stuck with me ever since. I was coming in from recess, and I was talking to a friend of mine off to my left. Unfortunately, I was not watching where I was going. I kept barely taking glances of what was in front of me, and that was a huge mistake. Someone was running behind me, and wasn’t watching where they were going either. As I approached the building I heard yelling, but thought nothing of it. After all, recess had just finished, so obviously kids would be yelling, right? It turns out some kids had been playing tag, and decided to play until they got inside. One that was still running away, because God forbid he’d be “it,” was Nick.…

Throughout my years of high school I have always strived for the best grades that I could attain, and they didn’t come easy. There were plenty of distractions that had driven me off course. Whether it was long hours at practice, volunteering for my community, or having a part-time job, I couldn’t let these activities hinder my grades. This purpose had sprung in me, to not only strive in my extracurricular activities, but also my schoolwork. Balancing both school and additional activities wasn’t a simple task. This led me to many sleepless nights, in which I had to tutor myself on certain topics I was struggling on. This ranged from my hardest subject, to studying extra hours on my hardest class, and even simple topics that I needed extra work…

Looking back to middle school I remember the fear I had for someday having to go to high school. My teachers always told me how different and harder it would be when I went. My older sister was in 9th grade at the time and I wanted ti be with her when I went. But the high school she was at was different from the one all my friends were going. I always had a hard time making decisions and now I had to choose between going to a school with my friends or going to a school that would help me prepare for the future. So I decided I would just apply to my sisters school to see if I got accepted, going into the interview I wasn't really scared because it didn't matter to me, I just thought whatever happens, happens. Surprisingly I got accepted and…

During my freshman year of high school I received a letter in the mail. This letter was an invitation to play basketball in Australia, with other boys and girls of my age. The date was September 13, 2011. The letter stated that we would be leaving June 1, of 2012. Of course I wanted to go as soon as I read the letter, but my family was more curious about the trip. We did some research and figured out everything that would be offered on this trip. In my research I read of playing Australian basketball games, snorkeling, swimming in the ocean, surfing, and spending three days on Tangalooma Island. This was enough to convince my family that it would indeed be a fun trip for me to attend.…

I’ve come a long way in high school, and have grown and developed extensively. Physically, mentally, and emotionally I have blossomed over the past three to four years into the person I am today. These changes have been brought about in many ways. The most significant reason that I have changed is my passion for fitness and weight lifting. I’ve been influenced by sports I’ve done, and coaches I’ve had. My relationships with family, friends, and girlfriends has also helped mold me into who I am. I’ve developed certain qualities that I am proud of, such as confidence and dedication. I have changed and grown a lot since my freshman year, like a flower bud transforming into a breathtaking flower.…

In four years when I read this I honestly won’t be surprised if nothing really changes. I can’t see myself changing in any major ways. I will always love sports, hunting, fishing guns and anything that has four wheels. I sure I will still not understand the point of reading books for school and writing long papers about things that I don’t exactly care or relate to me. Although, in order for this letter to do it’s job in four years I need to start from the beginning.…

My experience at my current secondary school started off full of excitement. I participated in many different activities and made a great deal of friends, which made me love high school. But there were many quarrels in school, which made life akin to the weather: unpredictable, uncontrollable, and unfair. The defining moment of my sophomore year was a simple misunderstanding that left a deep scar behind. It was a frosty morning, sending chills down my spine as I walked to school for basketball practice, become an ice cube…

When I first came to this school, I was in second grade. I can’t believe I was at this school for 6 years. I can’t believe i’ve been here for about 6 years. I never thought I would be in Atwater for this long, since before my family moved. From house to house and I going from school to school. Throughout the years at Bellevue I didn’t have a tough time making friends, but the hard thing was watching them move away. Well some of them. The good thing is I still have those friends today, the ones I met through out 2-8. It’s also tough to see that most of the teachers I had are no longer at Bellevue or even not remember me at all. I loved all my years here, but I really loved this year. I believe that 8th grade is going to be one of the best school…

Many if not all people change at one point or another during the course of their life. Majority of this change occurs during the high school years and even more specifically, freshman year. Many people associate the term “freshman” with being naive and asinine. However, in actuality during this period we as young adults are just attempting to find ourselves. “So much is still to be learned! So long a road lies before us, and what care we must take if we must travel it alone”(Rand 54). The development of a teen going through their high school years can be broken up into 3 stages; the beginning, the middle, and the end of the freshmen year.…

I didn’t know anyone in my freshmen year at school or outside of school, my life was boring. All I did was study or stay home and play video games for the first year. In my sophomore year in December I wanted to go back to India because I missed my friends and my family, so I went to India for 2 months, which affected my grades and I dropped all my grades from A’s to D’s and F’s, when I came back after 2 months(I didn’t want to come back here) and then I decided to have some fun in my life by making some friends and going out which wasn’t a good idea and that affected my attendance and then I thought school was boring, I started skipping which was very ludicrous and affected my grades. I don’t want to say that I made mistake by making friends and had fun because always studying and staying at home which could have resulted me in depression or some other effect on my livings. At that point i wanted to forgo the memories that I had in India with my friends and family, by making friends and going out was the only way to keep my mind away from all the memories back in India.…
