My interviewee is (my mom) Shondell M. Brown. Wife, mother of three, a former nurse, and a strong hard-working African-American woman.
Born/raised: Bronx, NY
College attended: Hostos Community College Bronx, NY
Major: Medical Billing/Coding
Graduation Year:1995 “The biggest thing I’ve overcame in college was getting organized. Dealing with a baby was a challenge in High school because I was a teen and working jobs and schoolwork with a baby, but college was a little smother for me with organization.” I liked the teachers/professors in college because they’re strict but cared for us (classmates) and kept us focused and, “There is nothing that I didn’t like in college; it was a great experience.” College changed me by, “Giving me structure

    After retaking the LASSI I have noticed a considerable amount of improvement as well as regression. In the beginning of the year, I vowed to myself that I would become a better student.
