Personal Narrative: My Imagination
As a child, I had a huge imagination. I would turn the recliner into Pride Rock and the backyard into a jungle. But, it was my sidekick, my partner in crime, my little sister who made my imagination grow and become real. Through years, as we get older and we add adult responsibilities to our daily lives she has never lost that imagination I remember. Although her imagination has changed into more adult-like forms she has been a signpost in my life. When I watch her and listen to what she tells me I can see her wheels turning. She gets an idea in her head and it grows until she can not contain it. Then, that idea explodes forcing her to publicize it. When she publicizes it, I am amazed. Her imagination as shown me that an idea can form in your …show more content…
The fear of judgment is still always present. I fear I will be judged by what I imagine. I am afraid that my imagination will be rejected and scorned. Reading the article transcribed from N.T Wright’s speech, “The Bible and Christian Imagination,” expressed where my fear comes from. Wright said, “The Christian Church has often been bad at encouraging imagination.” Sometimes they think imagination will take us away from God. I almost did not come to Taylor because I was told it was conservative and even my mother was worried I would not be able to make movies like I wanted, based on my imagination. I am constantly afraid that my imagination has led me astray, taking me farther from where I was trying to go. That all being said sometimes I won’t trust my imagination which leads me to refuse using …show more content…
I hope these words describe my leadership. The biggest thing I strive for is to be compassionate to everyone. While it is harder for me to do that sometimes with my “other,” I want people to see that I am willing to love and serve them and put their well-being before my own. At first, I was going to choose "motivating" until a friend said: “You’re always optimistic.” I smiled. I like to think of myself as optimistic and use that optimism to uplift others. I hope my optimism makes it into the things I do as well as the people I reach. I hope to be courageous. For one, to lead by example. I want for people to have courage so therefore I need to show courage as well. I also hope to hold myself courageously. People are more comfortable when they have courage. I strive to be dedicated in everything I do. I want people to see that I am dedicated to them and want to invest in a relationship with them. Organization might we a weird word to choose for leadership but I think of it as a deeper meaning. I like to be organized but not just in my room or in my day to day schedule. I hope that my brain, in general, is organized. I hope that people can see I can organize my thoughts and multiple things at once. I hope they see I can organize each person I am close to and remember everything important about them and to

Finally, when I moved to New Orleans I started volunteer work at the Children’s Hospital and helped with pop up clinics for the Latino community twice. Overall I found that helping others shouldn't be something seen as duty or mandatory, it should be spontaneous. Through others experiences and hardships we learn and grow as human beings, not only did I enjoy helping others but I felt that it helped me with my problems. Having moved around so much and meet so many people and living by myself so many years I came to truly be thankful for my blessings and specially for my hardships. Hermann Hesse once said, "I have always believed, and I still believe, that whatever good or bad fortune may come our way we can always give it meaning and transform it into something of value." Helping others made me realize that we all need help and that my way to help others would be through their health. It also taught me not to judge anybody, especially if you don't know what they have been through. I am hard believer that everything happens for a reason, and all the weekends I spend watching my parents help others helping others myself made me the determined person that I am today. Finally, the most important lesson I learned was to never give up, no matter how hard the task is or how bad the problem is there will always be someone willing to help and you can always be both sides to that, the helper or the one who needs…

The thirteenth emoji going left to right, that has heart eyes and has its lips perked out is relateable to a part of the book where Jerome and Rory are kissing intensively. On page 200 it states "I started pressing my lips into his cheek - just a hint of a kiss,.....I felt his shoulders release, and he made a little noise that was partly a groan, partly a sigh. He kissed my neck up, up, up to my ear......My body flushed itself with all the good chemicals that it takes to reserve for making out. On page 201 it states " He told me scary Jack the Ripper facts, and I had the sudden need to make out with him until I ran out of breath. I would have continued indefinitely if........."…

For the Wrong Reasons I arrived at practice with my shoes laced, hair pulled back, and the mindset that I was unstoppable. I could play against every member of my team and come out the victor on any given day. It was the first day of practice that week, and challenge matches were scheduled to begin. The team went through our daily shuffle of drills, conditioning, and running to prepare for what was lying ahead. While warming up with my friends, I felt great, talking about homecoming, boys, and a variety of irrelevant events. I felt ready. The odds were in my favor and nobody could stop me.…

Hector Amezcua Ekins Writing 0990 05 Mar 2013 Personal Narrative Starting from a place I remembered as a teen, moving from a place that was warm to a place that had all four seasons; such as winter, spring, summer and fall. The First place that I grew up was surrounded by mountains. During the winter it was full of white snow, something that I was never used to seeing coming from California where all one would see was sandy beaches and the waves clasping one another. As I remember being so new to Park City, UT all I could see was the wonderful views of trees, mountains and people skiing or snowboarding. I have to say this was a fond memory because for the firs time I was actually able to experience the feeling of what winter was…
