Personal Narrative: My History With My Mentor
The history with my mentor is we met when I was playing football as a child and he was a high school coach. He encouraged me to do better at all of the sports i do and i would be the best player on the field. So almost every weekend we would go to the gym or a open field and workout and work on my stands so I can come out and up even more powerful.
He told me somethings I can do on my own, because he did the same things when he was in high school and in college. If you would work on your weakness then, you will become stronger and smarter than the person you’re playing or you and someone else is fighting for the same spot and you’re the number one and he’s number two behind you.
I took what my mentor told me and used it as a weapon and took it to the heart and worked on my own and as my in high school I’m the best lineman on both sides of the ball on my free time I’m watching film so I can know who I’m about to go against and as I work by myself I’m getting better and better by the day. As I work with the younger players I teach them to be the best on and off the field and to stay humble and on the field nothing is giving to you got to go out there and take it and talk with the way you play. I have a little brother and at the end of the day he’s looking up for me to lead him into the

Both of us can do the same thing to the kids that play on the team. I think if I never met my mentor then I won’t be the person I am today helping with little kids that I don’t know , but at the end of the day it’s coming from the kindness in my heart and I wanna see other make a life wrought living and not just out in the streets robbing people, getting shot, or in jail. As I got older I have became a mentor myself so I can guide someone into to right path and not doing anything that will get them into trouble. And for that I'm thankful for him to be my coach and my

Personal background starts off small, it changes and grows over time into something big, it grows into an identity. Walking down the hallway at school, seeing someone standing alone, my first instinct is to make conversation, compliment, or even just smile at him or her. This instinct came from someone once telling me an act so small could turn a person's entire life around. As a kid, reading encyclopedias about random topics, consumed my time. Many days were spent coming home to find an injured wild animal in my dad's arms waiting to be saved. My dad would sit outside and draw animals, trees, and anything else he saw. Nothing excited me more than trying to draw whatever my dad drew, and as good as he did. Any assignment that was handed to…

Throughout my life I have encountered many circumstances that have shaped me into the person I am today. I was born in Moroleon, Guanajuato, Mexico. I attended school in Mexico all the way to second grade. In the summer of 2006 I moved to Cumming, Georgia. It was the hardest thing to do because I left everything that I care the most about. We lived in a trailer which was not the nicest place and in the middle of the forest. I started school at the beginning of August. I had always loved school so I was so excited for the first day. I knew it was going to be hard because I would have to conquer so many obstacles on the way. At this time the only English I knew was probably counting from one to ten and some of the colors. My Father knew some…

I’m happy with who I am today, just as everyone should be. But if I could change anything about myself, I’d want to have more motivation to do things. In the mornings before school I can barely get out of bed because I’m so tired and don’t want to go to school. I’m exceedingly intelligent but I don’t have any drive. I procrastinate on most of my work, and sometimes I just don’t want to do the work. Right now I’m rank 14 in my class but I could’ve been higher if I had any drive my freshman year. I don’t think about how my decisions now will impact me later and when I do, I don’t really care. I also don’t have much motivation to do things in sports activities. Last year I played volleyball and I never had that much playing time. Never being able…

My greatest influences are my parents and my brother. My brother suffered from Guillain- Barre Syndrome when he was eight. He lived in the hospital on an artificial ventilation for 97 days and later he had to continue physical therapy for at least ten years as he was completely paralyzed. My parents and my brother devoted their few years completely for his treatment. Today, my brother is a successful engineer working in the bay area. I learned that with dedication, determination and diligence we can achieve our dream in life…

“We all stray from time to time….and when you do, OWN IT! If you deny it….you are giving up control again.” This can teach a lesson to people struggling with drugs and alcohol. If you deny that you have a problem, you will continue to let these things control your life, but if you own up to it, you can help yourself or get help from others. The quote, from the “I don’t know the Bible…” paragraph, “‘Well done, my good and faithful servant,”’ reflects what I believe in and what I have learned. Growing up I heard many people tell me, “God first, others second, and yourself last.” First of all, these two quotes are telling me to live a faithful life by putting God first. Also, to put others before me and serve them just like Jesus did.…

Every day I wake up determined to do more than I did the day before. My past achievements include gaining leadership skills, being on a varsity sport, and learning outside of school. I have been in tennis for eight years and varsity for three years, where I have received two awards for most improved player. I was accepted into the program “Trees for Tomorrow” where I learned how to manage and use natural resources in a classroom and in field studies. I participated in a new sport, a cross country ski team, where it taught me skills and strengthened my mind set about myself. My early years of high school, I was part of the backstage crew for a play, performed at my high school. The theatrical plays were terrible, under equipped, with barely…

In high school, I won a tennis state championship and was ranked number one in men’s doubles. At Berkeley, I suddenly was not the best anymore. The coaches tried to help me out; but rather than listening to my reasoning, I got a lot of sympathy. I felt the same disconnect with my new team that I also felt with my patients. However, in sports, I was on the other side of it. During this time, I remember that the only thing I wanted was not to be right or felt bad for, but simply to be heard.…

I headed to my first class which just so happened to be my favorite subject, English. The hallways were very wide but when filled with students I felt like I had to shove my way through just to get to my locker. The lockers were a mixture between Gray and purple. The school colors were supposed to be purple and silver but there was no way that these lockers could be considered. I took a look at the little piece of paper that the lady in the office had given me and tried out the combination on my locker. It took me about five minutes to open it and after struggling for that long I was a little irritated so when it did open, it flew open and slammed into the locker next to mine. I held my breath and hoped that nobody had noticed. I took a long deep breath and slowly opened my eyes again. Luckily I was still standing alone and nobody around was looking at me. I put my extra books and notebooks into the locker and and closed it as quietly as I could.…

The mentor teacher has the greatest influence on the development of the learner as a teaching professional. This responsibility is a highly significant one. The knowledge, time, and involvement that is required to make this experience a valuable one for teachers, coaches and mentors is much appreciated by the educational organisation collaboration. Providing a climate for open and honest discussion, questions, and concerns will create an environment for professional growth and reflection in which both mentor and educational organisation can thrive.…
