Personal Narrative: My Golf Experience
If I have had a bad day or issues are on my mind, the one place I go is the golf course alone. It was a scorching hot day and my mom dropped me off. I told her to come back in an hour and a half. I grabbed my golf bag and threw them on my back like a bag of bricks and begin to carry it over to the range. As I walked by the first tee box the workers were packing up for the day and heading home. I could hear lock on the door click and I knew I would be one of the few people out this late. In the sky the sun graced the horizons of the golf course and shined through the trees around me. Out on the course, there were a few scattered groups shooting around like ants on the horizon in their golf carts rushing to beat the darkness and get to the bar …show more content…
With each passing breeze I remember the humidity, but continue to practice to distract myself from the outside world. After 45 minutes I decided to play a few holes. The sun is now beginning to fully go down over the horizon and a once bright yellow turned into a pink orange color. I realize I am going to have to run to finish at least 4 holes. The next 4 holes consist of attentive hits of the ball and carless running to my last shot. My thoughts consist of worrying about the sunlight and where my ball could possibly be. As I come closer to the end the once humid air has now turned into a consistent summer night breeze and the bugs specifically the cicadas have begun to create sympathy of noise around me. As I turn back to the clubhouse my worries from before have left me and now all I can think about is my hits and misses. I would much rather me graced with these worries then the ones of the outside world. Not looking at my phone for an hour and getting outside in the great fields of grass to me is the most therapeutic location in the world. Whenever I have major issues on my mind I will always have the golf course to help me forget my problems that truly don’t

“When we first started it was for a better cardio workout and to stay healthy. I had no idea on how to play racquet ball but Tom knew. Starting out we played by the rules. But as the weeks went by so did the rules. We would kick, push trip etcetera.” Kevin explained. The following morning, I skip bike practice again, but Doris goes anyway. At the office, Megan caters to me. On her way in, she stopped at Trader Joe’s to buy me a protein drink with antioxidants from Trader Joe’s, a bottle of chewable Vitamin C and a whole grain carrot muffin. I drink half the bottle and listen as she tells me, “Thom cancelled the development meeting, since he met with you the other day.”…

It was a beautiful summer day. Not a cloud in the sky and the sun beating down on anyone under it. It was a perfect day to call over my friends and have an adventure or play ultimate Frisbee like we did almost any day. Today, my neighbor and I, Paul, decided to change things up for a change. We decided to use my homemade go-kart on the abandoned golf course, Blue Heron, behind my house. We grabbed our helmets and took brushed the dust off the go-kart from years sitting in my basement garage for years and were on our way to the long steep hills that Blue Heron had to offer.…

I couldn't be more excited to finally play on a girls golf team starting this next Monday! After having three concussions ending my soccer career, my dad came to me and suggested I join the golf team. As a freshman, I joined the boys team at Slinger High School. Most of the guys accepted the idea of a girl playing with them. Many helped me out and treated me like any other teammate, which definitely calmed my nerves for the first few weeks. I competed in almost all the matches. The first few matches were very scary because I got many strange looks from other teams. My teammates were always there for me though. I became so comfortable and by the end of the season I made many friends and accomplished a lot as an individual. I found myself in…

Growing up, I was never naturally athletic and very injury prone. Regardless of these issues, I always remained determined and strived to accomplish my goals. As I enter high school one of my main goals was to make the varsity tennis team. During my freshmen year I practiced every day for the first 3 months of school hoping that I could just make the team. Unfortunately I tore a ligament in my wrist for the second time which prevented me from practicing till right before the tennis season started. I ended barely making the JV team which was very disappointing, but it only motivated me for next year. In my heart I knew that I if I was determined enough I could play varsity next year on my own merit. As I progressed through the sophomore year,…

Going into this match I had a lot of confidence because I knew I could win. I underestimated the want he had to win. He surprised me and came out strong. My sectional…
