Personal Narrative: My Flag In My Heart
Imagine living in a place where citizens with light skin had control of citizens with dark skin. I believe that my flag in my heart means courage, because all of our soldiers had to have courage and bravery to stay alive, safe and self-assured from others. Deep in my heart, I believe that somewhere in the world, there is a person that needs our help. For all the dignity and self-esteem our heroes have, that that person and citizens around the world will get our help.

The citizens in the U.S.A would have a tough life without our soldiers fighting for our freedom, therefore, I am thankful for my freedom and safety. My flag in my heart means freedom because, back then in a world of slaves, citizens with darker skin didn’t get to be free, and live on their own. Now that we have won some wars and made peace with some states, everybody has equal rights. I respect each and every one I see, each and every one I hear. I look in the mirror and I saw a person of dignity, and respect for all.

My mother just gave birth to my little brother when I started noticing the financial issues my family were facing. As a little girl, I do not know how our finances worked all I knew was many bills were due and I knew it because when I was a little girl I liked to practice reading and those bill statements were the papers that attracted my interest due to its colorful paper.…

My father and I stand in our family room wearing matching Tom Brady jerseys. We shake with anticipation. It looks like the Seahawks are about to score a touchdown and pull ahead of the Patriots in the last few minutes of the super bowl. All hope seems lost until Malcolm Butler makes his legendary interception and ensures us a superbowl victory. My family exults. The Patriots have once again claimed another. We have spent the past months waiting and watching, hoping and praying. The Super Bowl wasn’t just won for the men on the team, it was won for all of New England. As Robert Kraft says, “we are all Patriots.”…

As Joe Barton once said, “Our flag honors those who have fought to protect it, and is a reminder of the sacrifice of our nation’s founders heros.” Our flag is not to be knelt upon, but to stand as one together, remembering how Veterans risked their lives everyday to go to war and give us freedom today. The least we can do is to thank you. You gave me a future, freedom of speech, and an education, and so many more things.…

We fight because we believe. Not that war is good, but that sometimes it is necessary. Our soldiers fight and die not for the glory of war, but for the prize of freedom and the ideologies that our country stands for. So great, were these ideologies, that men and women have bravely fought to defend them. OUR COUNTRY HAS FACED MANY TESTS OF COURAGE since its birth. Our answer to tests can be found in cemeteries from the islands of the Pacific to the coast of northern France. You can visit the hills in Arlington National Cemetery where markers record the names of more than 280,000 men and women. Each one was once or still is the most important person in someone's life. WITH EACH LOSS IN WAR, the world is changed forever for the family and friends left behind. IT IS UP TO US TO GIVE MEANING FOR THEIR SACRIFICE and de devoted to those principles for which these heroic citizens gave their lives. There is NO GREATER LOVE than to give your life for another. Our fallen comrades have demonstrated that love, and that my friends, is what Memorial Day is all about. FOR YOU TOMORROW, THEY SACRIFICED THEIR…

What the United States flag means to me is freedom. I hear the stories of the people who have their whole life chosen for them in different countries. Which sounds absolutely horrifying to me. I enjoy being able to decide my future like what kind of job i'm going to have or what college I’m going to go to. I don’t want that taken away from me.The Flag also ensures me as much safety as possible. What I mean by that is we have so many people who risked their life and are risking their life right now to keep that flag standing. All those people who have died died to ensure that I and everyone else live free and that means the world to me.…

Fighting for freedom was the reason we fought in the first place, and I wish to fulfill that reason. Valley Forge was a very difficult turning point, but in all that there is doubt, there is hope. Whether you win, lose, or die, you’ll be glad you re-enlisted , and so will your aging mother and other family members. I wish to serve for my country as my brother did. I believe that in all that there is bad, there is good. In all that there is darkness, there is light. In all that there is doubt, there is hope to conquer our toughest…

For many years now, the people who reside in the southern part of the United States have been in the heat of a major debate. This great argument is about whether or not the Confederate flag should be allowed to fly in public areas. Many people argue the rebel flag is a symbol of bigotry and racism in the United States. Others argue that the flag is a symbol of Southern pride and a sign of where we come from. The flags meaning is rooted deep in the history of our country. In March of 2007, I entered the United States illegally. Prior to this, I had been deported twice. Crossing the border was very dangerous, but I had to do it because in Mexico we are very poor. My father passed away 21 years ago, and my mom was left a widow with 11 children. My oldest brother moved out of the house, so I had to step up and help my mom raise my siblings. Where I’m from, there aren’t many jobs available, only on the fields and the pay wasn’t enough to support us. I didn’t want to cross the border, but I had no other choice. I ask for your forgiveness for breaking the immigration law by crossing the border and living in America illegally.…

A veteran inspires me. In their days of duty, they were motivated to fight for things they held in the utmost importance. Today, I stand in awe of the dedication veterans held for their cause. This feeling drives me to apply their attitude toward their obligations to my way of life. There are so many of us Americans that fly our flags high. Many of us because we love the United States of America. But so often we forget what this country stands for. Our Veterans and those that are actively serving have fought to keep us free. They have risked their lives and put their lives in danger so that we may have the freedoms that we have today.…
