Personal Narrative: My First Soccer Team
It was the day before the first soccer game of the season, I was eating a protein bar and watching some vines on youtube. It was about 8:30 pm, I decided to go take a good shower. When I was done I got ready for bed. Then I dreamed.

It was a tie game 2-2. We were looking pretty rough, every player on our team looked exhausted. I was put on the right wing looking for an open opportunity at goal. We didn’t have much luck the other team kept playing the ball so well. Then I found a gap and our team passed the ball up the field, I trapped the ball and ran with all my speed right by the defenders, I took the shot and…

“Crap”, I said, I had just woken up at the good part of the dream. It was time to get out of bed. I made my way for the kitchen, I made myself a bowl of lucky charms to eat for breakfast. I wondered what time it was, I checked on the wall clock and the hands pointed to 7:42 am. Time to go do my chores.

The trash sure was piling up, I took the bag out of the trash can and brought it outside to the trash bin. The air was nice and cool, the birds were chirping and the sun was shining brightly. “What a great day for soccer”, I thought to myself. I went back inside to start on the dishes, I scrubbed at them for about 20 minutes and then went to my room. I checked instagram on my phone and saw I gained a few followers overnight. I was happy to see people liked my soccer

We were the champions. Skating as fast as possible, I rushed from the blue line to the net where our goalie was. Our team dog piled on top of one another and screamed with joy. Cheering and crying rang throughout the entire arena. I was elated, tears streamed down my face as I hugged my teammates. After a few seconds, our team recognized that we needed to shake hands with the other team. I understood the defeat and sadness in the opposing teams’ eyes because earlier in the year, I lost to an underdog team in the soccer section final. After the hand shaking, I was a given a medal from my coach.…

My first year of storm soccer began in the 6th grade. I was nervous to start my first competitive soccer season. The thing that helped me out the most was that I knew we had a new coach in the program so we all were starting new. The first day of practice he talked to us and we all got to become closer by talking about ourselves and why we are playing the game of soccer.…

When I was ten years old I tried out for my local travel soccer team. I did not expect to make it, but by some stroke of luck I did. I started playing and it was not what I was expecting. In the past I averaged a hat trick every game, but travel soccer was a lot different. I started playing defense, but that might be an overstatement, because I did not get a whole lot of minutes. I knew that if I wanted to play more I was going to have to put in more work outside of practice. I started practicing everyday switching from running, to foot skills, to agility training. I probably spent more time complaining about it and there were a few time that my parents had to push me to practice, but I knew that I had to put in the work.…

It was a frigid, windy, Friday night in October. The only light was the bright and beaming illumination of the stadium lights projecting over the soccer field. The bleachers were full, it seemed as if the whole school was there, and as a freshman with anxiety, it made it hard to cope with the fact, that I was going to be a starter for the varsity soccer team.…

My life has revolved around soccer since I was four years old. My whole family was born into the sport and I’m so thankful that I have the support from my family and friends to continue to follow my dream in playing college soccer. I believe my life would not be the same without participating in the sport I love and playing with the people I grew up with. I wouldn’t have met half the people I know now. All my teammate’s families that treat me like their family would have been just imaginary. I wouldn’t have a second family to fall back on when I need. Soccer had made me for who I am. The reason I’m so competed and driven is because of the game. Soccer has helped me become a responsible hardworking young adult that doesn’t like to fail. My never-quit…

I was 9 years old on a soccer team in a school called Brightwood. We have a soccer game every Thursday and Brightwood was going against a school called Truesdell. That was my alarm going off and spoiling my most amazing dream. I just realized that I dreamt my birthday with my family who are not here with me for the first time in my life. It was the first time that my mom did not wish me first ,my dad did not kiss me on my forehead and my sister did not hug me. I was sad and missing them terribly. I realized my phone was showing some unread mails, So I opened my inbox and was surprised to see a mail from my dad. I opened it and found a video attached in the mail. I was little surprised and wanted to know what was the video about so,I clicked on view button and there was my mom and dad and my sister standing and singing the birthday song for me.
