Personal Narrative: My First Quarter
Everyone I met at UC Davis agrees that the quarter has gone by really quickly. Before I entered UC Davis, my friends often joked about how the quarter system will be over in a blink of an eye, before you know it. I thought they were exaggerating, but in all actuality, now that I am almost done with my first quarter, I think by comparing the latter to a blink of an eye is underestimating just how fast the quarter has passed. Like most people, I classify myself as heir to the throne of procrastination. I slacked in the beginning of the quarter and ended up being overwhelmed by the amount of work I had to do to keep up in the end. I would suggest incoming freshman to plan a schedule before day 1 of their first quarter. Gather all your class schedules

    It was my first day of practice for high school swimming. There I was- a scrawny freshman, idolizing these upperclassmen who towered above me.
