Personal Narrative: My First Cubs
I remember everything about my first Cubs game although it was a few years ago. My family and I went to the game on a Saturday in spring, a bright sunny day. We traveled by train to the ballpark because my dad said it would be hard to drive through all that traffic.

He was right about how crowded it would be. When we go there people were walking in the street and cars were moving so slowly. I was only eight and not very tall, so it was hard to see over the people who crowded the street. Finally we got to the entrance, and then we went to our seats after we handed in our tickets.

When asked to write about a childhood experience most people think of the time they lost their first tooth when they were 6, or about the time they started school when they were 5, however, I’m going to write about summer. It wasn’t just any summer it was the summer that I went to the lake with my Dad and Papa. I was about 4 and couldn’t be any more excited about what was going to happen…

Avoiding all the curve balls that were thrown at them, the ChMS Baseball team took the necessary steps to get to an advanced level. With 28 wins and 8 losses, they practiced everyday to become more and more talented. “My favorite part about this season was that everyone got along and worked hard together,” commented Lucas Jennings. The head coach of the team is Coach Ayers, and the assistant coach is Coach Green. These two coaches pushed their players to their limits to make them the best of the best. Most of the 8th grade players will be moving up next year to high school baseball. “Next season I am mainly looking forward to playing with older high school students,” said Carter Frederick. Most of the players have been playing for a long time…

Also I was starting pitching for our team I have pitched in big games before but never one like this game. so I was kind scared but I was ready to play in the game. So I got ready and left my house at 3:30 on the way there I took a nap to get rested for the game. So I got there a hour and a half early so when I got there I just kinda sat around and waited for all the other players to get there and so we could start warming up so when the catcher Liam Nash got to the field me and him were throwing like short toss and then we throw like long toss to really stretch out are arms. After we did that me and Liam took a break and got…

It started off like everyday for every beagle working in the airport. A beagle’s life working in the airport is mainly using our acute sense of smell to sniff out any meats or plants that could possibly carry diseases or pests. I work in the Beagle Brigade at the Tay Airport. The Beagle Brigade is a team of beagles, and human handlers that search for prohibited agricultural products, and unauthorized meats. From what I’ve heard my owner says that without us our foods wouldn’t be safe, and there can be diseases that can be introduced in the U.S.To make it simple, without us humans wouldn’t be safe at all.…

My family and I went on a trip. It was me, Danesa is my youngest sister, Todd is my dad, and Renee is my dad’s girlfriend. First we went to Omaha to get a car. Then we drove for hours on hours to about 100 miles from the Hall Of Fame. We stopped and got some sleep for the night because it was so dark out. Then the next morning I was so excited because I was going to see the Hall Of Fame in person. We got to the Hall Of Fame and it was packed like people waiting outside to get and it was so hot outside. It was like $30 per kid, but the parents were like double that. It so cool inside of it because I got to see Jim Thorpe “The Legend” that's what it says on the statue inside of the build. I saw a lot of jerseys and helmets…

I fell back on the mulch, full of tears, wishing that I'd never existed. The whole world was spinning. I felt like sinking deep into the grounds of the earth, and never returning. I thought I was ordinary. I did ordinary things an ordinary kid would do. But maybe not to them... The two vicious cobras hissed and snatched at me. Their venom sunk into me like a needle; It hurt. It stung . I couldn't hold the tears back anymore. Those two cobras changed my life. It was recess time, and I was playing on the playground like any other kid would do. Then came the cobras, slithering towards me like I was the prey; the tiny little mouse that had no strength. "You're a maid," they exclaimed. "You don't belong here!" The two pushed me down, my body landing…

The triple A affiliation of the St Louis Cardinals. Baseball was Americas Past time, and some say the greatest game. I just happened to have season tickets there, so I got to watch a lot of baseball there. My tickets were three rows behind home plate, so I got to the see the players up close and personal, often times hearing there conversations in the dugout. The seats gave the game a more competitive edge because you really had an eye on the strike zone. You could debate the calls yourself; it gave me a more “into it” feeling. Most seasons I would not miss a home game, just because there was nothing to do at home. A quick forty five minute drive ad me sitting in my seats watching the game. Some of the MLB’s greatest have been through there, and I got witness every one of them. The ballpark included a bunch of games for kids, and a play ground out in left…

Well he saw me play once and my brother he never came to my games and it was kinda sad. My first game we won. My first game i was batting and I hit the ball, my mom, yelled RUN RUN RUN. The game against Easton really set the tone for my team and we only got better from there, winning almost every game that summer and most importantly we won Districts with little to no competition, but that didn’t mean we could just try and breeze by with no effort but we knew that and played our game. I fully believe baseball is the best sport and has made me into the great young man I am today. It taught me integrity, humbleness, appreciation and most importantly how to deal with failure. I sometimes sit back and try to think about what life would be like without baseball and I simply can not. Baseball has had such a big impact on my life I can’t imagine life without it or what I would do with my free time. The thing I love most about baseball is the love-hate relationship everybody has with it. Nobody has a perfect relationship with baseball, everybody questions the love they have for it at least twice a season and the only difference between the greats and normal players is the great’s stayed with it and worked on their craft instead of taking the easy way and just giving…
