Personal Narrative: My Family Car
Our family car was a very reliable bronze Nissan Murano, this car had been part of the family for at least 5 years, it had taken us to Mcdonald’s trillions of times. However much we loved this car for it’s design, it would not save us from what was in our fates on that particular day. My mom, brother and I were on our way to one of my friend’s house and he lives approximately 15 minutes out of California, Missouri if you take the highway. We were driving approximately sixty miles per hour and we just about to turn onto my friend’s road.
We had been hysterically mocking unintelligent politicians that we had seen on the news the previous day, when out of my peripheral line of sight I caught a glimpse of an unidentifiable carcass in the middle

We were new to this city so we knew nothing except for the name of it. Although the city was a little bit smaller than St. Louis, but it was breathtaking. To my surprise the air was fresh, it was like the fresh air in a meadow. The people overall were pretty nice with some even offering to take us to the mechanic when we asked. I really liked this city, but one thing was pretty infuriating, which was that the streets were like a labyrinth. Due to the streets being so complicated, we were out walking around for an hour before we found the mechanic. Once we got to him, he simply took us in his tow truck, towed our car, fixed the car, charged us and we went home.
So overall this story may have not been all that stimulating, but it is one of the stories I recall the best. It happened fairly recently and I always laugh when I think of my brother not realizing we had a wreck because he was asleep! I also suspect you may be wondering what happened to the car and if you're not, then your should stop reading this and give me an A, but in all seriousness our beloved family car did survive...for about a month then we traded it in for a grey

Out of nowhere the Tahoe swerved quickly to the right. In the middle of the highway was a gleaming white dishwater. Everything went into slow motion, we swerved to the right and slammed into the back of the Tahoe. The airbags deployed with a loud bang, my head slammed into the window, and my sister was crying. Our car was totaled,…

It was supposedly the best summer of my life. My parents finally agreed that I can drive to work although I did not have a driver’s permit. I was so excited because I had never driven a car without someone by my side. So I got in what was supposedly going to be my car and vanished in seconds before they thought about changing their minds. The few weeks after that day were smooth as I had begun to take good control of the car, and everything was running smoothly except for a small filter that I was going to change which made the car turn off on its own. With my mother always telling me to drive safe before leaving the house, I often did… until that night.…

My mom had just gone inside; she had left something in the house that she needed to get. She left the keys in the ignition. I saw this as an opportunity to back up the car. I made my way from the back seat to the front by jumping over the middle consul; I knew I didn’t have much time, so I tried to be as quick as possible. I put my foot on the brake, preparing myself for when I switched gears. As I shifted from park to reverse nerves suddenly came over me. I felt fear. Due to my nerves and fear I became overwhelmed and put way too much pressure on the gas pedal. The next thing I remember is me hitting a tree that was about 15 feet behind where the car was originally parked. As I panicked, I saw my mother, running…

    Family and Truck

It's July 27, 2011. My uncle had just left our house, we, (my mother, father, and siblings), were soon to follow. We were all headed to my grandmothers house. We all piled up into my dad's new Ford. We had just passed BJ's as I felt a tightening in my stomach, almost as if something dreadful were about to happen. Sure enough we rounded the corner and there were five or six pedestrian cars and two police vehicles. We slowed down and pulled to the corner of the road. I could not yet see the wreck, and I assume my father couldn't either because he repositioned the truck closer. Perhaps my uncle was involved in a wreck. Dad slams his fist on the steering wheel, "Dammit Justin!" he yells. My mom looks shocked. I don't see why he is acting this way, it seems to be only a small wreck. I see a small yellow car parked close to a tree. Well, that doesn't make much sense. I don't see Justin's car though. Maybe that's why Dad is angry, Justin must've left the scene of the accident. Then I realize that Justin's car is the one parked by the tree, though it wasn't parked but wrecked. I didn't recognize it because of the shape the once nice vehicle was in. She rubs my fathers arm and says, "Maybe he's okay.". It doesn't look okay to me at all and I imagine that the expression on my face as I look at my mother mirrors my thoughts. It's so wrong of her to give us all false hope, as if anyone would be alive after that. I look out the window, I see his yellow sports car crammed against the tree. The once beautiful body of the vehicle is now no longer than the length of my leg. I fight to keep my heartbeat down. I feel the unfamiliar sensation of tears forming in my eyes as I look at the disaster before me. I mindlessly wonder how they will retrieve his body from the wreckage. I zone back into the atmosphere of the truck. It appears my father has exited the truck, leaving the driver door agape. My mother too is outside the vehicle, she seems to be comforting my…

I was feeling pretty good by the time we reached Bozeman, Montana, about 150 miles into our trip. The radio was playing perfect sing along music, the sun was still shining, and my baby girl was fast asleep. We weren’t long outside Bozeman when the weather drastically changed. It was snowing so hard that I could barely see the road ahead of me. I turned the radio down so I could concentrate on the road. When I looked up I saw the most horrific car accident I had ever seen. A semi truck was turned sideways on the highway and a car had slid underneath it, completely ripping the top off the car. I could only assume that the passengers of the car were dead. There were police lights flashing all around, but it was exceptionally quiet. I pulled the car over to catch my breath. After taking a few moments to collect myself, I continued on my way.…

Seeing that my car was not in the garage, I instantly dialed 911. It felt like the phone had been ringing for over a minute before I was finally connected to a dispatcher. By this time my adrenaline had kicked in. I was furious! After explaining to the dispatcher what had happened, she began to ask the basics: “What color is the car? What is the year and make of the car? Is there anything that distinguishes it from other vehicles?” I told her it was a green 1999 Volkswagen Jetta GL with a blue bumper. She took all of my information and the police quickly began the search for my car.…

It was summer in June and a Saturday night; the rain was pouring like I have seen very few times before. I had just left my mother’s house after a delicious meal along with some of our homemade red wine. In getting ready to go to work I realized that it was late, my Jazz music band, was supposed to start to play music at 10pm in a nightclub twenty miles west from my house. But the pleasant dinner, and mostly the wine, inadvertently caused me to be extremely late. Once on the highway I tried to reduce the lateness by increasing and maintaining high velocity, in several occasions the speedometer was above 130 MPH. When the crash happened I was not wearing the seatbelt; in fact I found myself on the passenger seat. The windshield and the side glasses were reduced in thousands of pieces, many of which were all over me. The absence of glass also facilitated the rain getting inside the vehicle and created more discomfort. The front of the automobile, where the engine was located, had been pushed so much inward that it almost reduced the length of the car in half. I was so furious about the damages that I didn’t even care of my health conditions. The car went down the side of the highway; it was hidden by trees and quite difficult to reach. In fact, the police report stated that I had been unconscious for more than half an hour before someone found me.…

Once you get your driver license in Germany at the age of 18, your Mum might tell you from the date before leaving by car “Fahre nie schneller, als dein Schutzengel fliegen kann.” It is a German saying and it means that you should never drive faster than your guardian angel can ever fly. I remember that I always answered “Yes, yes- nothing will ever happen to me, Mum. Calm down”, closed the door and left for going somewhere. You will never even try to change your behavior or think about it until something happens that might change you as a person and your way of thinking for the rest of your life.…

I was sitting in a restaurant along with my parents. The restaurant was on the first floor and we could see the busy Western Express Highway from the window. I was watching the cars, buses, and trucks speeding by. Just then I saw a bus trying to overtake another bus, but the gap was a bit narrow. The bus driver lost control and his bus hit the divider. It ran on the divider for a few seconds and then to my horror, it overturned. “Oh God,” I shouted. The overturned bus skidded and stopped in the middle of the road. My father too was watching the incident as it happened. He immediately called the Police and Ambulance from his cell phone. Meanwhile a huge rush had gathered near the overturned bus. Luckily there were only a few passengers in the bus who started coming out of the bus from the emergency window one by one. They were all hurt and some of them were bleeding. The public helped them come out of the bus and made them sit on one side.…

Entering a road that I assumed is the Old Road, it looked very mistrustful and mysterious but I still took it. If I was wrong I would just make a U-Turn and return to the major road. I have never used the Old Road before so I was a little afraid of what we might encounter on this journey, so I told everyone to wind up their windows. While making our way up the road, we spotted rusty old car parts, some burned cars and heaps of garbage along the roadside. Ten minutes later down the road and I was fully convinced that I had taken the wrong road, so did my friends. I made a U-Turn in a side street. On our way back up the road we cud see a man wearing a yellow and orange striped shirt running towards the car. We did not know where he came from but it looked like he appeared from some nearby bushes. He threw a brick through the windscreen and it came caving in. The entire glass chattered and covered the front seat. My friend Abigail whom was sitting in the passenger’s seat got the worst of the fragments of glass. It covered her entire legs and when I looked down there was a lot of blood. Everyone was screaming and panicking and mostly in shock as to what just took place. The man then tried to open the back left passenger door. Luckily my friend Susan, who was sitting there, managed to close it back with speed. As soon as I saw that I knew that something had to be done quickly, so I put the car back in…

There were 4 cars including ours. Well here’s the rub, that day my cousin was driving like a normal person but I don’t exactly remember what happened but the car went out of his control and went off road. First, the tires got burst then the car hit a big rock and after that the car drifted to right and flipped over three times. The second time the car rolled over I thought it’s my last moment of life but by the Grace of Allah when the car stopped rolling it stood straight. I and my cousins rushed out of the car drag my sisters out and then went away from the car if in case it explodes. It was so scary that one of my other cousins who were riding in other car behind us saw the whole seen and she got faint. It was so scary that whoever sees the condition of the car gets frightened and none believed that we survived after seeing the condition of the car. Well we all somehow managed and controlled ourselves, sat in other 3 cars and came back home. It was a miracle that no one in the car got a single bruise.…

About 8 years ago a memorable accident happened to me. As a high school student I couldn’t be more than excited to wait for the weekend. I got home that Friday after school and got ready for the night; it was the monthly relationship celebration with my boyfriend, so I had to look amazing. I left home at around 7 pm, everything was fine, and I was driving down Interstate 40 near exit 132 in my white Chevrolet-Blazer listening to music. I was anxious to know what surprise my boyfriend had for me, which restaurant we would go to celebrate, and what gift he had for me. Maybe I was driving a little bit too fast due to my excitement, when all sudden it felt like…

I picked up my cell phone to call a friend, as I did on most days after work. She and I chatted for a few minutes and then ended our conversation. I pulled out of my parking spot, turned right out of the parking lot, then proceeded to the next stop sign. While looking both ways I noticed a white truck in the far distance and proceeded to roll forward and take the left turn. As I turned I was t-boned on the front driver side by the white truck, which turned out to be a Ford F-450 commercial truck. All I remember hearing was the rumbling of crushing metal. Needless to say my beloved car that I had worked so hard for appeared to be totaled.…

“Be careful and pay attention when you’re driving.” Said my dad. He always worries about things. I said, “I will, don’t worry I have everything under control.” I sort of chuckled in my head, thinking what’s the worst thing that could happen? I was only going down the street to my church. Without waiting for my dad to respond, I ran down the stairs and hopped into my rusted silver 1994 Chevy pickup truck. The whole reason I was going to First Baptist church of Silvis, was to go pick up Joe, one of my best friends.…
