Despite the many conversations I had with “the player”, he ignored them all. My initial perception of “the player” was that he was avoidant and defiant. As time pass, I have to admit that I allowed his attitude affected mine; I was increasingly becoming dominant and harsh with “the player”. “The player’s” behavior made the manager and team’s head coordinator to consider an expulsion of this individual from the organization. This would have been a relief for me; however, I advocate for the sports psychologist intervention. At that time I perceived many things which I mention to the team staff: “the player” can be a troublemaker, or he may have some type of psychological disorder, or something is bothering him. “The player” was not expelled; it was discovered that he was having several personal problems at his home while he was away, and apparently that was his way of coping with problems.
