Personal Narrative: My Experience At St. Olaf
Through my short 7 weeks here at St. Olaf I have had many different experiences. First, when I arrived for football camp on August 12th. Initially I felt uncomfortable, out of place in somewhere new where I really didn’t know anyone. On the other hand it was intriguing, such a beautiful place on a hill, where you feel on top of the world. Then, it was time to say bye to my parents for the first time in 18 years. That made everything more uncomfortable and made me feel more confused, which I am sure every freshman felt. Starting to meet the rest of the freshman and make friends was easier then I thought, because all of us were new here, and looking for people to talk to.     The event that I choose to follow summer fest was a simple and casual visit to the wellness and recreational center, fancy way of saying the gym. Upon my first ever visit to Florida International University I still remember at our freshmen orientation entering the gym and thinking to myself this seems like a place that I will be visiting often during my four year tenure at school.
